Adikaram, as a pioneer educationist and a humanitarian, was able to add another learning institute for Buddhist youngsters, to the Buddhist Scholastic Foundation, which was immensely growing, on 4th January 1941. For the past 82 years Anula Vidyalaya has played a major role in benefacting society with young ladies guided with Buddhist principles of non-violence and self-discipline. Reverting to 19
92, the Media Unit of Anula Vidyalaya was initiated and is considered an indisputable path finder throughout its existence for over 31 years. The Media Unit of Anula Vidyalaya has been achieving its goals and has been successfully completing its duties and responsibilities, with true commitment and dedication, contributing to find novel and original school journalists and is proud to offer numerous school journalist personalities. With our fundamental intention of expanding the media skills and capabilities of our members and fellow school journalists, we were able to add a memorable episode to the annual school calendar for the past years, organizing SAMÃHÃRA, The Annual Inter School Media Competition in order to encourage and inspire the school journalists. Our foremost reason of being one of the most systematic and triumphant organization in Sri Lanka is initially the collaboration awarded by its members, the magnificent direction of our teachers-in-charge and the tremendous supervision and the support granted by our dear madam principal. The Media Unit of the Anula Vidyalaya flips through history and is dawning into a new chapter with new hopes and new desires, This time Bigger and Better.
