Eleven people, including a village official, have been arrested for trying to travel to Georgia by submitting fake documents.

Nine men and two women were arrested at the Katunayake Airport by a team of officers of the Criminal Investigation Department.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has informed that water supply to several parts of Kalutara will be banned on April 25.

Water supply to Vaduwa, Vaskatua, Pothupitiya, Kalutara (North/South), Moranthuduwa, Pembuwala, Pilaminavathy, Darga Nagar, Bentotai, Aluthgama, Kaluwamodarai and Beruwela.

Water supply will be suspended for nine hours from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on the 25th in the said areas.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board has informed that this water cut is being implemented due to essential maintenance work at Alwis Place Water Treatment Plant in Kalutara.

While an internal inquiry into the matter was immediately initiated, a complaint was also registered at Fort Police Station.

Fort Police investigations are currently underway.
