One of the largest meat processing factories in South Asia was opened today at the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone (IPZ).

The meat processing factory is owned by a local businessman with an investment of Rs.1.5 billion.

The factory is established aiming to meet the 10% of international market requirement for meat-related products.

The factory is located on a three-acre land in IPZ at Katunayake.

The factory would provide 300 job opportunities and aiming to produce meat products such as sausages, meatballs, ham, bacon including local traditional food varieties with premium quality and targets to export its products to the Maldives, Middle East Countries and India.

Stage II of Sri Lanka's joint-largest Water Treatment Plant, the Kelani Right-Bank Water Supply Scheme, was ceremoniously inaugurated today, 18 November 2020 by the Hon. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, with the Hon. Minister of Water Supply, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and respected dignitaries in attendance.

Implemented by the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) with the Main Contractor Suez of France, the new plant is expected to benefit 1.75 million people in Colombo and Gampaha Districts. MAGA completed civil works of the project on schedule, despite the prevailing COVID-19 global pandemic, enabling the timely commissioning of the water treatment plant and the pipelines network.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ හා ඕමානයේ පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් එක්ව ෆය්බර්ග්ලාස් නිෂ්පාදනය, කලාපය තුළ ව්‍යාප්ත කීරීමට අදාළ අන්තර් ව්‍යාපාර අන්තර්ජාල හමුවක් ඉකුත්දා පැවැත්විණ. ඕමානයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා තානාපති කාර්යාලය හා ශ්‍රී ලංකා අපනයන සංවර්ධන මණ්ඩලය එක්ව ඕමානයේ ෆයිබර්ග්ලාස් සහ ඇක්‍රිලික් නිමි භාණ්ඩ පිළිබඳ ජනප්‍රිය නිෂ්පාදන සමාගමක් වන අල් හිලාල් ෆයිබර් ඇන්ඩ් ඇක්‍රිලික් ඉන්ඩස්ට්‍රි එල්එල්සී සමාගම සහ ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සමාගම් වන සී/ස. නීල් ප්‍රනාන්දු සහ සමාගම (පුද්ගලික), දනුෂා සමූහය, සී/ස. නොර්ත්වෙස්ට් මැරීන් (පුද්ගලික) සමාගම සහ සී/ස. සීලනී බෝට් යාඩ් (පුද්ගලික) සමාගම යන සමාගම් සහභාගි කරවාගෙන මෙම අන්තර් ව්‍යාපාර අන්තර්ජාල හමුව සංවිධානය කර තිබුණි.

මෙම අන්තර් ව්‍යාපාර අන්තර්ජාල හමුව ආරම්භ කරමින්, ඕමාන සුල්තාන් රාජ්‍යයේ තානාපති අමීර් අජ්වාඩ් මහතා අවධාරණය කරනු ලැබුවේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සහ ඕමානය තම ආර්ථික විවිධාංගීකරණය සඳහා නිෂ්පාදන අංශයට ප්‍රමුඛත්වය ලබා දී ඇති බවත්, විවිධ වර්ගයේ බෝට්ටු ඇතුළු ෆයිබර්ග්ලාස් නිෂ්පාදන සම්බන්ධයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සහ ඕමාන සමාගම් අතර සහයෝගීතාව සඳහා අවස්ථා අතිවිශාල වශයෙන් පවතින බවත්ය.

ඕමානයේ අල් හිලාල් ඉන්ඩස්ට්‍රියල් ගෲප් සමාගම නියෝජනය කරමින් එහි ප්‍රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී සලීම් නෙටූර් මහතා මෙම අංශයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා සමාගම් සතු උසස් තාක්‍ෂණික දැනුම පිළිබඳව ප්‍රශංසා කළ අතර, දෙරටේම අන්‍යෝන්‍ය ප්‍රතිලාභ සඳහා මෙම කලාපය තුළ ව්‍යාපාරය ව්‍යාප්ත කිරීම පිණිස ඔවුන් සමඟ සහයෝගයෙන් කටයුතු කිරීමට දැඩි උනන්දුවක් දැක්වීය.

ඕමානයේ අල් හිලාල් කාර්මික සමූහය සහ අන්තර්ජාල හමුවට සහභාගී වූ ශ්‍රී ලාංකික සමාගම් මෙම අංශය තුළ ඔවුන් උනන්දුවක් දක්වන ක්ෂේත්‍ර හඳුනාගෙන, නුදුරු අනාගතයේ දී විය හැකි සහයෝගීතාව සඳහා යෝජනා හුවමාරු කර ගැනීමට එකඟ වූහ.

"අලුත් රටට-අලුත් බෙහෙත්" වැඩපිළිවෙළ යටතේ නව ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදනගාර පරිශ්‍රයක් ඉදිකිරීම සඳහා අක්කර 64ක භූමියක් රාජ්‍ය ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදන සංස්ථාවට පවරා දීම අද බත්තරමුල්ලේ පිහිටි නාගරික සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යංශයේදී සිදු කෙරුනා.
මිල්ලෑව ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි නාගරික සංවර්ධනය අධිකාරියට අයත් භූමියක් මෙලෙස පවරාදුන් අතර රාජ්‍ය ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදන සංස්ථාව එහි සිය දෙවන ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදන පරිශ්‍රය ඉදිකිරීමට නියමිතයි.
ඒ අනුව එහි නව කර්මාන්තශාලා 5 ක් ඉදිකිරීමට යෝජිත අතර එලෙස ආරම්භවන්නේ පිළිකා ඖෂධ, හෘද සැත්කම් සඳහා යොදාගන්නා ස්ටෙන්ට් (stent) නාල, අක්ෂි කාච සහ විකලාංග ශෛල්‍ය වෛද්‍ය උපකරණ නිෂ්පාදනය කරන කර්මාන්තශාලායි.
කර්මාන්තශාලා පරිශ්‍රයේ ඉදිකිරීම් කටයුතු කඩිනමින් ආරම්භ කෙරෙන අතර වසර දෙකක් තුල ඉදිකිරීම් අවසන් කිරීමට නියමිතය. ඒ සඳහා රජය වැයකරන මුදල රුපියල බිලියන 8 ක්.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට ආචාර්ය නාලක ගොඩහේවා රාජ්‍ය අමාත්‍යතුමා, නාගරික සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ සභාපති හර්ෂ ද සිල්වා, රාජ්‍ය ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදන සංස්ථාවේ සභාපති වෛද්‍ය උත්පල ඉන්ද්‍රවංශ සහ අම්‍යාංශ දෙකෙහි ලේකම්වරු සහ රජයේ වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමයේ සභාපති වෛද්‍ය අනුරුද්ධ පාදෙණිය සහ ලේකම් වෛද්‍ය හරිත අලුත්ගේ ද එක්ව සිටියා.
