The faculty of Healthcare sciences (FHCS) is located in the city of Batticaloa,About 17km away from its parent organization,Eastern university ,Srilanka,located in Vanthaarumoolai. FHCS currently involves in 2 degree programmes.
1.MBBS
2.Bsc nursing

FHCS constists of six administrative departments namely
1.Human biology
2.Pathophysiology
3.Primary Healthcare
4.Clinical sciences
5.Medical

education & research
5.Supplementary Health Sciences . Clinical exposure from the Teaching Hospital ,Batticaloa,the major Tertiary care institution in the Eastern province. FHCS is the youngest faculty in the Eastern university ,established on 23rd November 2005 as the 7th medical school in sri lanka. FHCS enrolled the first batch of students for Medicine in 2006 & for BSc Nursing in 2008. The concept of establishing a Faculty on Health Sciences in order to fulfill the Health care needs of the society. Presently the hostel accommodating Of FHCS Are functioning at Pillayaradi,Batticaloa .50 acres of land & 6000 million project to establish the permanent structures of the FHCS at Pillayaradi is underway with possibility of including allied health Sciences professions degree programme in near future.

FHCS aimes to be a national center of excellence for higher learning & research with a competitive advantage ,responsive to the dynamics of the regional ,national & global conditions.

To produce men & woman of highest professional standards in the practice & delivery of Healthcare.
