Al Afkar Company mourns the loss of its founder, Walid Awad, who was honoured yesterday by Lebanese President Michel Aoun with the Lebanese Silver Medal of Merit, in recognition of his national achievements and distinguished role in the fields of press and media.
Walid Awad dedicated more than 65 years of his life to free and independent journalism, and was a beacon for patriotic and independent opinion and thoughts.
In recognition for his outstanding contribution to Lebanon and the Arab press, Al Afkar team and his daughter Zeina Walid Awad, will ever continue to hold the torch of Walid Awad, and will stay loyal to his mission of integrity, patriotism, and independent thinking.
