Hand, foot and mouth disease is widespread in kindergartens in South Korea. Attention moms!
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is a viral infectious disease, characterized by fever and blisters often found concentrated on the palms, soles and soles of the feet. inside the mouth.
HFMD mostly affects children under 10 years old and is most common in children under the age of 5. Children in kindergartens are very susceptible to the effects.
๐Symptoms: children may initially have fever, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite, uncomfortable. After the fever, blisters appear on the hands, feet, mouth, tongue, inside the cheeks, and sometimes on the buttocks.
Acute gastroenteritis virus and Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease are on alert in kindergartens all over Korea.
๐Measures to prevent illness in young children:
- Regularly wash hands with soap under running water, especially before feeding and feeding children, preparing food, before holding the baby, after going to the toilet, after cleaning and changing diapers for the baby.
- Eat hygienically, eat well, drink hot.
- Ensure the items eating and drinking must be washed, it is best to soak it in boiling water before using.
- Do not chew and then feed that food for children.
- Do not let children suck toys.
- Do not let children share handkerchiefs, tissues, eating utensils such as cups, spoons, plates, bowls, toys...
- Regularly clean surfaces of daily contact items such as: learning tools, toys, stair handrails, door handles, floors, table tops/chairs...with common detergents.
- Isolate children from those who are sick or suspected of having hand, foot and mouth disease.
- In the first 10-14 days of mouth infection, parents need to isolate their children at home, do not let them go to school or crowded places.
