We would like to bring your attention ( relevant authorities and NGOs) to a human rights violation that is happening in Wajir County.
A company by the name Wajir Water & Sewerage Company Ltd in Wajir County which was formed in 2014 to provide clean water and sewerage services to the whole Wajir County has an employees that were not paid their salaries for the last four months for reasons best known to the Governor H.E Ahmed Abdullahi and his executive beside that the Governor recruited a Managing Director on October 2022 through back door with no due process after ousting the former Managing Director without legal process.
The Managing Director organised an internal Audit ( headcount ) on 16th December 2022 after he promised the staff he will pay their salaries for each one who pass the headcount but nothing has been done till now. The staff were subjected to another audit on 28th and 30th of January.
The employees have bills to pay and family to feed of which if they continue with this in coming months, they will die for hunger since they have nothing to eat.
As you know, the country is passing a tough economic crisis that is unbearable for human being, specifically the northern Kenya is struggling with a ravaging drought that swept livestock and human beings.
The Governor decided to kill the few people who survived from the drought.
We are asking the relevant authorities, if kenya is a country that has a rule of law to be followed or anyone can constitute his laws overnight and hinder the rights of noble citizens of this country.
We are hereby sending our utmost request to relevant authorities to intervene this matter soonest possible and stop human rights violation.
