The camps, Ilkelian, The new Zebra plains, Mara maisha explorer, Intrepid and several more other lodges have been wiped away overnight.
One car at the new Zebra had to move paxs from 2.am to higher grounds.
It has been both catastrophic and logistical nightmare.
The management had moved in with speed to check regarding which camps have been swept away because this was a matter that will also greatly affect accomodations spaces in the Mara in a short time as already even before the floods, Visitors were struggling with finding accommodation.

UPDATE: State House Comptroller Katoo Ole Metito has defended the allocation of Ksh.1.5 billion for the refurbishment of the State House and State lodges for the financial year 2024/2025.
Ole Metito states that renovation works for Nairobi and Nakuru State House were long overdue.
He says that a major uplift on the presidential residences was conducted a long time ago and that an extra Ksh.6.2 billion is needed to complete the refurbishment process.
The remarks by Ole Metito come a day after Controller of Budget Dr Margaret Nyakangβo questioned how the government spent Ksh.51 billion in six months without approval from her office and the National Assembly.

KELVIN KIPTUM - The Final Journey
Marathon world record holder Kelvin Kiptum has been laid to rest. The athlete died in a car crash along with his coach, Rwanda's Gervais Hakizimana, on 11 Feb.
Thousands of mourners graced the marathoner's burial including Kenyan President William Ruto, his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, several cabinet secretaries, MPs, senators and other local leaders.
Also in attendance were several athletes both local and international, NOC-Kenya President Paul Tergat, World Athletics President Lord Sebastian Coe, Athletics Kenya President Jackson Tuwei and World Athletics Director of Communications Jamie Fox
President Ruto promised Kelvin Kiptum's widow another house, a job and Ksh.5 million cash.
