The Floating Bar in Lamu: A Unique Experience

THE FLOATING BAR IN LAMU is an architectural marvel, known for its innovative and somewhat eccentric structure.

Held afloat by tanks beneath its surface, the bar has the ability to rotate 360° and even shift slightly from one location to another.

Not just a bar, it also offers a variety of food options, making it a perfect destination for both dining and relaxation.

This floating venue has become a favorite for both local and international tourists seeking a one-of-a-kind experience in Lamu.

Its prices are affordable, ensuring that visitors can enjoy the beauty of the ocean without breaking the bank.

To reach the bar, a boat ride costing around 200-300 Kenyan shillings is all it takes. Upon arrival, guests are greeted warmly and offered a menu as they soak in the cool ocean breeze.

However, a word of caution to those with a fear of water: the bar sways gently with the movement of the waves, much like a bouncing castle, which adds to the fun for most, but might be unsettling for some. Nonetheless, it’s undoubtedly one of Lamu’s greatest attractions.
