Kevin Ochieng Okuna known by his stage name as Kaka Talanta was born in Nyahera village, Osingo sub location, Suna East Sub County, Migori County. His family are descent of the Abasuba [Suba] people who spread in the larger Migori area. Kaka Talanta is the last born in a family of 10 siblings [ 6 boys and four girls]

His dad worked as a steel fixer in construction projects [ he no longer do the job due to old age] while the mother was a subsistence farmer; though the mother died while he was 11 years old in 2005. According to him, the mother's sickness was a long and drainful journey that when she finally rested, the family was left with nothing.

Kaka Talanta attended both his primary and Secondary education in schools in his village, Osingo. After sitting his KCSE, he moved to Migori town where he did a course in IT before securing a job as a cyber cafe attendant. He also learnt the skills of phone repair and maintenance while working at the cyber cafe being that it housed a phone repair workshop.

Kaka Talanta started his Musical Journey as part of praise and worship team in a church in Migori where he also played Keyboard . He attributes his skill of playing keyboard to his elder brother who is also a Keyboard player and Gospel artist. Basically, majority of members of his family are in Gospel music either actively or as part of church choirs.

In 2013, Kaka Talanta recorded his first Gospel song "Nikae Kwako" which was a good song but didn't make it to the airwaves based on how upcoming artists found it hard by then to market their songs to the point of featuring on radio playlist. YouTube or social Media was not embraced as a vessel of music distribution as it is today.

In 2017, Kaka Talanta recorded his first secular song, "Obado Tano Tena" which was an instant hit being that it was intentioned for political campaign and based on its timing. Many people came to know Kaka Talanta through this song. Though many perceive this song as the bridge between his initial genre of music to Ajawa, Kaka Talanta did a number of Gospel songs after "Obado Tano Tena" among them "Jinsi Nilivyo" and "Nionyeshe Upendo"

In 2023, he recorded Slim Nyar Gwasi, his first love song , followed by one of the biggest hits of 2023, Bebina which currently has 1.8 Million views on YouTube . Among his other songs are Kikius Herawa, Chunya Gi Pacha, Lamo Jonyuolwa , Tera Dalau ( 1.5 million views on YouTube) , Migori Dala, Mos Mos among others.

Kaka Talanta has his band, Kipasa Sauti Musicals based in Nairobi but performs countrywide and even outside the country. He is a father and a husband.

On Saturday 27th July, Kaka Talanta and Kipasa Sauti Musicals will be launching their second Album " Weche mag Hera" at Greenspan Mall Grounds Donholm. Mombasa senior resident magistrate David Odhiambo sentenced 27-year-old Samuel Mwithiga Wanjiku, a boda boda rider, to seven years in prison after he pleaded guilty to the offense of retaining Ksh200,000 that had been wrongly sent to his M-Pesa account.

Mwithiga stated that he had received the M-Pesa amount, informed his family that he had won a lottery and proceeded to buy a motorcycle, opened a hair salon for his wife, and gifted his mother Ksh50,000.

He further admitted to the court that he blocked the sender of the money on his M-Pesa due to his frequent calls demanding a refund of the money.

Wanjiku had been charged with intentionally withholding payment delivered erroneously contrary to section 35 of the Computer Misuse/Cyber Crime Act 2018 following his arrest in Nyandarua by detectives.

Rephrase cleverly Reuben Ndedah Owalla, popularly known as Wallah Bin Wallah was born in Lamadi village, Mwanza in 1956. His dad was a forrmer Kenya railways worker called Owalla from Nyakach Kadiang'a who latter got christened Wallah when he migrated to Mwanza in Tanzania and converted to Islam.

He attended Lukungu Primary School in Mwanza from class one to class four, then proceeded to Bukumbi Primary in Shinyanga where he studied from class five to class seven. Being that his family couldn't pay for his fee, He got sponsored by Catholic church missionaries who enrolled him to Nyegezi Seminary School.

He later dropped out of school to sell fish between Kisumu and Mwanza. He did this for three years till Muslim Youth League sponsored him to study at Ravals Secondary School in Nairobi. He finished his form four in 1974 and proceeded for A-levels. He then went back to Tanzania where he attended Morogoro Teacher training College and earned a Diploma in Education in 1978.

He came back to Kenya and got posted to Misiani Girls Secondary School in Kangundo in 1981. In 1984, he took a break and went to Zanzibar Campus, a constituent college of Dar es Salaam University and spent two years studying Kiswahili and Arabic. He came back to Kenya again and got posted at Moi Girls Isinya. While teaching there, he registered for his Masters at Dar es Salaam University through Correspondence.

He was later posted to Mbita High School and he did his book Malenga Wa Ziwa Kuu while at Mbita. The book was quickly embraced and was even used as a course book in colleges. In 1994, Wallah resigned from TSC and joined Makini School where he also did a number of books including Taswira ya KCPE Kiswahili in 1996. Wallah has done several books including Kiswahili M***i series.

In 2005, Wallah together with Prof. Kimani Njogu and Nuhu Bakari were contracted to translate the Bomas Constitution to Kiswahili. Wallah is a father to six children Fidia Nusra, Jeff Kauchape, Julisha Mantiki, Jitu Kamaliza, Sadfa Nana Wallah and Zaibu Musa.

KISII - SAD UPDATE 😭 Around eight people including a bouncer and a police officer feared dead in a grisly road accident today around 4am at Choma Choma Lounge Roadside along Kisii- Migori Road.

It's reported that a lorry that was transporting oranges from Ukambani to Daraja mbili lost control and rammed into several cars and people who were leaving Choma Choma Lounge after a night out where a famous Ohangla musician was performing last night.

Those with injuries were taken to KTRH hospital while the bodies of the deceased were kept at the KTRH morgue.
