On Wednesday this week, I led the Amnesty International Kenya Technical University of Mombasa COC for a digital rights workshop at Sheraton Regency Hotel in Mombasa Town. The workshop mainly focused on Digital Rights as Human Rights.

Members of TUM COC were educated on the importance of data privacy and the rights they are entitled to while accessing the digital space.

Why is it that most young Kenyan athletes have died in car accidents? Aren't these accidents planned?
Here is a list of those who perished in car accidents

1. Samuel Kosgei
He was involved in a car crash in May 2023 along Kapsabet-Lessons road.

2. Nicholas Bett
The Kenyan record holder, first Kenyan to win gold medal in race shorter than 800M in the World Athletic Championship. He died in a tragic road accident in 2018.

3. Francis Kiplagat
He was among those who perished in a road accident on 19th Feb 2018 at around 11 pm along Nakuru - Nairobi highway.

4. Kenneth Njiru
Perished in a road accident after his car collided with a land cruiser ferrying tourists. He died on 7th January 2018.

5. David Lelei
He died on the spot after his car collided with a trailer along Nairobi - Nakuru highway in 2010.

6. Jefferson Siekei
He died in a road accident in Nyamira County back in 2009.

7. Kelvin Kiptum
The world Marathon record holder died in a road accident on Sunday, 11 February 2024 at around 11pm along Elgeiyo Marakwet - Ravine road.
