For those who did your KCSE exams and everyone around you is waiting for the 'big announcement' of your results, I suggest beat the whole system and move on. Take control of your life and refuse to be kept in suspense and given strange titles like 'A material' or 'D material.' Decide that you are success material and nobody will change that. Whatever grade they give you, you will live a good life one way or other. You will have big money and you will have a big career. Your life will be rich and impactful. You are keen on making sure this comes to pass with whatever grade.

So the grade will simply influence the path, not the destination. In any case this grade cannot define you. Not when it never took into account the background from which people were writing it. Did they consider the stress levels at homes where kids were coming from? Or if someone was undergoing pain during the few days of the exam? You know your abilities and you should plan your life based on them. Do not anchor your future on such inaccurate assessments as a few weeks of an exam.

How to move on and plan your life with immediacy? One, you're not new to yourself and you can predict what you will score. You've done many other exams and you can predict your grade with a very small margin of error. Unless, of course, you live in denial and you're investing tones of energy to impress people.

The idea is that you should seize this window of time when nobody is bothering you to chart your course in life. The moment that grade arrives people will be on your case again, suggesting all manner of things and giving you no peace. Others even impose on you by offering help only if you do the course of their choice!

But now the world has looked away for a moment, and you should move away as well. You should define yourself as opposed to waiting for the world to define you.
