Coming very soon🤫 Stay tuned and have a great weekend!
“As a child, daydreaming on my bed,I would sometimes close my right eye and imagine what my life would be like if I lost it. Suffering from Amblyopia in my left eye, also called lazy eye, the world around me appears as if through a blurred photographic lens. This obsession gave rise to some of the images most representative of this book.“🌀
Watch the world around with the eyes of the Belgian photographer Frédéric Schmiliver—in his book UNCONSCIOUS. Known for his photographic essays, the photographer remains committed to reality and storytelling, seeking to engage diverse audiences and bridge gaps in understanding through their visual narratives.
“These photographs are of dreams, a series of reveries connecting with the unconscious. It is a collection of analog images made over 20 years, mostly from my youth, when I photographed without any technique, reference or method. Unconsciously.”

“Sicily is often associated with corruption, poverty, omertà—but seen up close this triangle of a country means wonder, humanity, conviviality, stories. What fascinates me about Sicily are precisely these people, these faces, linked and anchored to a volcanic land, a telluric and cosmic land, sometimes inhospitable, whose strength and violence is inevitably reflected on the character of the islanders”.
Maurizio Leonardi, an Italian photographer originally from Naples, is drawn to the margins of society, capturing the lives of those who inhabit spaces. He does not go to a place to take photographs or to explore it, he simply lives there—this time, he lived in Sicily for several months aboard his van, watching people and making some wonderful portraits.
Explore the island’s “ethical and poetical density”, away from the strident mass of tourism, as Maurizio sees it in his new book UNNI VA—out now!

One of the long-awaited releases that we’re presenting at UNSEE Photo fair these days — VOGLIA by Elise Wouters⚡️
A picturesque study of Palermo, this project is a part of Quaderno Palermo series and was born during the art residence that Elise did at 89books earlier this year. The book shows how one perceive the city through the body: “My body is never separate from the space that surrounds it; we share a singular experience, continuously interacting and redefining one another.”
Come visit us today at Westergas to get a first look of the book and to meet Elise later this afternoon🫶
Almost everything is ready for our installation that is going to be presented this Friday - large scale photographs from the Bangkok Sketches series by @mauro_dagati.photographer 😍
Installed at the former Niceta shop in via Roma, Palermo, it provides a glimpse on the urban life of Bangkok, another city with a multilayered and chaotic urban tissue - which correlates with the poetic desolation of the ruins and debris of Palermo, creating a dialogue between two cities through photography.
The installation will be available from the 1st of September, on this day you can also visit the book presentation that will be held at @eglise.art - see you there at 19.00!
Discover BANGKOK SKETCHES by Mauro D’Agati page by page🔎
While D’Agati usually focuses on social themes rather than urban ones in his photographic practice, this work has become a tribute to his beloved city of Bangkok where he feels almost at home — and where streets and buildings vibrate with life. They are loud and smelly, they are not a backdrop but a fully-fledged protagonist of the story. The story that one wants to penetrate, unravel, be part of.
And when the night comes, D’Agati delves into another hidden world, of which there are many in Bangkok, the world of BDSM and fetish clubs, following his The Black Swamp project — see more about it at our website🔥

Discover the PASSING PHOTOS by Hamid Mosaddegh: a result of the juxtaposition and overlapping of light and shadow, color and texture, this mesmerizing collection can be called the photography of found places—an author’s tentative to bring out to light the hidden and usually invisible expressive power of random objects and places, which makes us explore the city from the totally unconventional perspective.

This tank-shaped salt lamp was purchased from a souvenir shop in Bakhmut in late 2016. The artists started literally licking the salt tank with their tongs day by day, bit by bit. This slow and quite painful process demonstrates the slow and not necessarily successful re-shaping of the object of trauma. It went on for 240 weeks (four and a half years) and each week they were taking a new photo of the salt lamp to record its gradual disappearance.
