“ACID WASH” ARTIST BOOK & ZINE 1 AT READING ROOM. FROM 4 TO 6 JULY. 14 TO 19 PM.
“Acid wash” is a handmade, 100% recycled denim artist’s book that investigates the history of acid washes on denim. Inside it features laser prints, hand-bleached lettering and labels that tell the role of different subcultures in the history of this wash. The whole book is rough-cut to allow it to wear as you leaf through it and has small imperfections sought to tell as truthfully as possible a wash that owes much of its history to an amateur context.
The focus of this project is the form in which the content is presented, talking about a fabric through the use of the fabric itself.
