Dear friends,
The 3rd Seventh Art Independent International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from September 19 to 21 at the Mar Ivanios College Auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram. The festival will showcase twenty-four films from seven different countries, spanning various categories such as Feature Films, Short Films, Documentary Features, and Documentary Shorts.
In addition to international films, the festival will also feature the participation of filmmakers from different parts of India and abroad. This event is being organized in collaboration with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Mar Ivanios College.
The complete list of films and the screening schedule have already been published on our official website and page.

The third edition of the Seventh Art Independent International Film Festival in association with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mar Ivanios College Thiruvananthapuram will be held this year from 19th to 21st September 2023.

We are thrilled to screen a series of noteworthy films which will be followed by highly interesting Q&A sessions all of which will showcase not only the creativity but the resilience and perseverance that we possess as a community.

രണ്ടാമത് 7th Art Independent International Film Festival ഇന്‍റെ രണ്ടു ദിവസം നീണ്ടു നിന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവം സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 28നു പൂര്‍ണമായി എന്ന് സുഹൃത്തുക്കളെ അറിയിക്കാന്‍ സന്തോഷമുണ്ട്. 2020 ഇല്‍ കോവിട് മഹാമാരി ലോകം മുഴുവന്‍ പടര്‍ന്നു പിടിച്ച് മനുഷ്യ രാശിയുടെ നിലനില്‍പ്പ്‌പോലും അനിശ്ചിതത്വത്തിലായപ്പോള്‍ നല്ല സിനിമ കാണുന്നതിനുള്ള എല്ലാ അവസരങ്ങളും ഇല്ലാതായെന്ന തോന്നല്‍ ഉളവാക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ എന്‍റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളും സംവിധായകരുമായ ആര്‍ ശരത്, സുരേഷ് ഉണ്ണിത്താന്‍, രജത് കുമാര്‍ ദില്ലിയിലുള്ള ചലച്ചിത്ര പ്രവര്‍ത്തകനായ രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്‍ ചേട്ടന്‍ എന്നിവരോട് സാഹചര്യം ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്തു. അങ്ങിനെ ഉടലെടുത്ത ആശയമാണ് ഒരു അന്താരാഷ്‌ട്ര ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവം...ആദ്യം ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ പിന്നീട് കാലം മാറുന്നതനുസരിച്ച് ഓഫ്‌ ലൈന്‍.
അങ്ങിനെ രണ്ടായിരത്തി ഇരുപത്തി ഒന്നില്‍ മുപ്പത്തി അഞ്ചു ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങളുമായി ഓണ്‍ലൈന്‍ ഫെസ്ടിവല്‍ നടത്തി. ഈ വര്ഷം കോവിട് ഭീഷണി മാറിയ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ മാര്‍ ഇവാനിയോസ് കോളേജുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് വിജയകരമായി ഫെസ്ടിവല്‍ ലൈവ് ആയി ചെയ്യാനും ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സാധിച്ചു എന്നത് സന്തോഷകരമായ കാര്യമാണ്. ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ നിന്നു മാത്രമല്ല വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് പോലും ചലച്ചിത്രകാരന്മാര്‍ ഫെസ്ടിവലില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നതിനായി എത്തി എന്നുള്ളത് ചലച്ചിത്രോല്‍സവത്തിനു തികച്ചും ഒരു അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര മുഖം നല്കുന്നതിനു സാധിച്ചു എന്നത് തികച്ചും ആനന്ദകരമായ വസ്തുതയാണ്.
ഈ അവസരത്തില്‍ ഫെസ്ടിവല്‍ ഒരു വിജയമാക്കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടി കഠിനാദ്ധ്വാനം ചെയ്ത Dept. of Journalism and Mass Communication HoD ഡോ. സഞ്ജീവ്, ശ്രി. ആര്‍. ശരത്, ശ്രി. സുരേഷ് ഉണ്ണിത്താന്‍, ശ്രി. രജത് കുമാര്‍, ശ്രി. ശമില്‍ അലിയെവ്, കുമാരി. ഗൌതമി വേണു നായര്‍, ഫെസ്ടിവല്‍ ബുക്ക്‌ ഡിസൈന്‍ ചെയ്ത ജ്യോതി സിനേറിയോ, ശ്രി. ശിബുരാജ്, ശ്രി. ഗിരീഷ്‌ ചെങ്കവിള, Journalism and Mass Communication ഡിപാര്‍ട്ട്‌മെന്‍റ് ഇല്‍ നിന്നും മേളയുടെ ഓരോ വിങ്ങിലും ജോലി ചെയ്ത മിടുക്കരായ കുട്ടികള്‍, കോളേജ് ബര്സര്‍, പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പല്‍, വൈസ് പ്രിന്‍സിപ്പല്‍ സെക്യൂരിറ്റി ജീവനക്കാര്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പടെ എല്ലാവര്ക്കും നന്ദി അറിയിക്കുന്നു.
സര്‍വോപരി ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവം വിജയമാക്കുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടി ഞങളെ സഹായിച്ച ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി ശ്രി. ശിവന്‍ കുട്ടി, ശ്രി. എം ആര്‍. ഗോപകുമാര്‍, ചലച്ചിത്ര നടി ശ്രീമതി ജലജ എന്നിവരെയും ഫെസ്ടിവല്‍ സ്പോണ്‍സര്‍മാരായ മില്‍മ, കേരള ടൂറിസം, ഐ ടി മിഷന്‍, എനെര്‍ജി മാനേജ്‌മന്റ്‌ സെന്‍റെര്‍, നാഷണല്‍ സേവിങ്ങ്സ് എന്നിവരെയും ഈ അവസരത്തില്‍ പ്രത്യേകം സ്മരിക്കുന്നു.

The second edition of the Seventh Art Independent International Film Festival in association with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Mar Ivanios College Thiruvananthapuram will be held this year from 27th and 28th September 2022. We are thrilled to screen a series of noteworthy films which will be followed by highly interesting Q&A sessions all of which will showcase not only the creativity but the resilience and perseverance that we possess as a community. Hon’ble Minister for Education and Labour Sri. V. Sivan Kutty will be the chief guest of the concluding event and will hand over the lifetime achievement award to Smt. Jalaja and other festival award winners.

The film festival program includes 16 films including feature films, short films, feature documentaries, and documentary shorts from over six countries.
