Forces conduct Area Domination Route March in Rajouri

Rajouri, March 30 : Aimed towards better Area Domination as well as proper familiarization of troops in view of parliamentary poles, the security forces on Saturday conducted a route march in Rajouri main town area and peripheral places.

Jammu and Kashmir police, Central Reserve Police Force, other Central Armed Paramilitary Forces jointly participated in it which started from District Police Lines Rajouri and passed through Panja chowk, Salani bridge, Tariq bridge, Workshop bridge, main bus stand, Gujjar Mandi area.

Senior officers of police as well as other forces led this route march which was a part of exercise in order to have adequate area domination as well as area familiarization of troops.

Alongside it, a general briefing of force was also made before the march especially for security arrangements of parliamentary polls.

DM Rajouri directs all gun license holders to deposit weapons in nearest Police Stations within one week

RAJOURI, MARCH 17: As the schedule for the Lok Sabha is announced, the District Magistrate Rajouri, Om Parkash Bhagat directed all the civilians possessing licensed weapons to deposit the licensed arms and ammunition at the nearest police station within a week.

The District Magistrate, who is also District Election Officer (DEO), besides asking for deposition of weapons, has also directed all the printing presses, operating within his jurisdiction, to clearly indicate in the 'Printline' the names and addresses of the printer and publisher of any election pamphlets or posters.

The district administration cautioned the printing press owners/operators against any violation of the provisions of section 127 A of Representation of People's Act, 1951 and the instructions of Election Commission of India, underling that the same would be viewed “very seriously” which may in appropriate-cases include even the revocation of the license of the printing.

The move aimed to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the district as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India for Lok Sabha Election, 2024.

District Election Officer Rajouri chairs meeting with Political Parties regarding Lok Sabha Elections 2024

RAJOURI, MARCH 17: District Election Officer Rajouri, Om Prakash Bhagat today presided over a meeting with representatives from various political parties. The objective was to underscore the importance of adhering to the highest ethical standards outlined in the Model Code of Conduct, and other applicable guidelines of ECI in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections, 2024.

The meeting served as a platform to sensitize political parties about the imperative nature of upholding integrity, fairness, and transparency throughout the electoral process.

All issues were deliberated upon during the session, encompassing crucial aspects such as complaining as per MCC provisions, obtaining permission for media advertisements, campaign vehicles, initiation of candidate bank accounts a day prior to the nomination period and the other important aspects.

The discussions held during the meeting underscored the collective commitment of all political stakeholders towards fostering an environment characterized by ethical conduct, accountability, and respect for democratic principles.

DEO reiterated the pivotal role of political parties in upholding the democratic ethos of the nation and emphasized the need for cooperation and adherence to the guidelines set forth in the Model Code of Conduct of ECI. He urged all parties to exhibit utmost integrity and responsibility, thereby setting a positive precedence for a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.

The meeting served as a reaffirmation of the collective commitment towards ensuring a democratic electoral process characterized by integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct. The District Election Officer expressed confidence in the cooperation and adherence of all political parties to the guidelines outlined, thereby fostering conducive environment for the smooth conduct of the Lok Sabha Elections.

RAJOURI, MARCH 16: District Information Officer Rajouri, Mohd Nawaz Choudhary today briefed the local media persons about the ECI guidelines regarding reporting of parliamentary polls.

A detailed brief was given with respect to MCMC and MCC as per guidelines of ECI. RAJOURI, MARCH 10: Chairperson, Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today laid foundation stone for Jamia Masjid at Ziyarat Shahdara Sharief and Markazi Jamia Masjid here.

After inauguration, the Chairperson addressed a mammoth gathering, during which she highlighted that J&K Waqf Board has now become a strong organization and developmental activities in all parts of J&K have been expanded on big scale. “During the past two years, infrastructure facilities at Shahdara Sharief have got a big boost”, Dr. Andrabi said.

She added that in Rajouri district, Waqf Board has taken up many new projects out of Board resources and all projects will be completed within the stipulated time.

The Chairperson expressed gratitude to people of J&K for their immense support to Board in making it more transparent and auditable. “The resources of the Board belong to public and assets have to be utilized as per the broader public requirements and needs”, she asserted.

She added that the reformative steps taken by the Board have yielded great results and the process will continue.

Earlier, the Chairperson also presided over Annual Day Celebrations of Himalayan Education Mission and Himalayan College at Rajouri and released their periodical. She also gave away Himalayan Mission Awards to the civil services persons for their exemplary contribution to the society.

The Chairperson was accompanied by Secretary, Civil Aviation and Planning & Monitoring departments, Aijaz Assad and other senior officers.

Later, the Chairperson chaired a meeting with officers of district administration to assess the facilities in place for the forthcoming Ramadan in the district.

During the meeting, she issued instructions to officers to ensure that all required facilities are provided during Ramadan Festival for the residents of the district.

The chairperson, during the meeting, discussed vital issues like ensuring uninterrupted access to water supply across all Jamia Masjids and shrines and facilitating devotees without any inconvenience.

The chairperson directed concerned authorities to maintain optimal water supply throughout the district. She also asked officers of PDD to ensure proper power supply during the festive period.

Furthermore, the Chairperson reiterated the vital importance of infrastructure maintenance, stressing the urgent need for proper repairing and functionality of street lights to enhance safety and accessibility for devotees during night time congregations.

Dr. Andrabi, on the occasion also addressed pertinent concerns regarding transportation infrastructure, highlighting the pressing need for the blacktopping of road notably from Thanamandi to Shadra Sharif for smooth facilitation of devotees.

The Chairperson, during the meeting, also underscored the critical role of healthcare accessibility during the festive period, instructing the Chief Medical Officer to ensure the availability of essential medical services to cater to the health needs of devotees and residents alike.

Dr. Andrabi also asked the Assistant Director of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department to intensify market inspections to curb instances of overpricing, profiteering, and black-marketing, thereby safeguarding the interests of consumers and fostering a climate of transparency and accountability.

Dr. Andrabi during the meeting, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting pilgrimage tourism in the district, underscoring its potential to not only enrich the local economy but also foster interfaith harmony and cultural exchange.
