Look to your favourite piece of art for inspiration,be it Van Gogh, or that one still shot from a movie that seems to have sunk into your veins. Sift through the myriad memories hidden in the folds of an old photograph or perhaps one that leaves you longing for something you have never experienced. Ask yourself, would there be art if we had no words to describe them? Maybe. But in the mess of this beauty of our world, perhaps every human endeavour is coloured by our attempt to share— sharing comes in the form of conversations and even silences but above all it comes in the form of creation; any attempt to create is an attempt to understand and therefore an attempt to connect. We hope you enjoy delving into this idea of connection and get a glimpse into yourselves and the world around you!

Happy writing! Feel free to contact us for any queries via dms or email.

October is the month of transitions, transformations and revival; a relief the earth feels after the scorching heat of summer. Changes come with letting go, but they also come with keeping a part of yourself intact. Sometimes it means rising from the dead; like the Phoenix rises from the ashes, like the flowers of winter make it alive to autumn.

It is our first issue for this academic year, and we asked our writers to think about what Resurrection means to them. These pieces talk about personal, biblical and external resurrections, making you wonder what it actually mean to come back. It is, after all, words which make us believe that we are reborn time and time again - and we must keep on coming back to life.

28.10.23 As I caught a glimpse on the newspaper, I let out an incredulous gasp upon noticing the date- it’s been a long time indeed yet it feels It was only yesternight when I killed her- the girl who had a fierce desire of living life, one who never believed in fateful encounters, the one who wrote her own destiny magnificently, the one who had faith that her hard work will be rewarded, the one whose vibrancy was both admired and envied, even suffering itself was tormented by the thought of inflicting pain upon her, the one who could even resurrect a lifeless person through her charm, but you know how the story goes, the world can’t tolerate such people, the strings of destiny she was so fond of weaving once, became the very millstone around her neck....

"Peace be unto you and may the Sun show you the path". It is humour, of course, for one needs paths to walk on. We are the people of the Sun, we do not tread paths, we dance on walls. Three feet below the ground, a single shaft of sunlight alights a chamber of clay etched into being by hands of a past, amongst the shallow graves....

At a young age, I became aware of the fact that I would have to live past my parents’ deaths. What I couldn’t have guessed is that they would have to live through mine. Dying isn’t all that it’s made out to be. The edges of my vision were engulfed by a purple haze and strange waves reverberated through my veins like thunderbolts....

Consumption is, the cruelty of The action, of engulfing, voices Reduced to a whimper; lately I feel like, I have been screaming from the Insides of my mother’s womb. Screeching, guttural, a ghastly Cry for a rebirthing from This birth; balled, curled up, Awaiting to rise from this Eternal, eternal slumber. My mind is not my own, it Dissolves, and blends in with…...

Every passing moment blurs out the bond I share with my past. Nights spent fighting battles end up bringing me closer to this fragrance of the unknown. This newness is slowly painting my world with colours of a rainbow and I no longer know what I feel. I am trying hard not to drown in this ocean of strangeness but in that, I am finally finding my true colours....

With teary eyes and a suitcase full of hopes, I looked back one more time. My room filled with books I have collected over the years, the scribbles on the wall ma always wanted to get rid of, the familiar smell of this city were holding me back, urging me to stay back for some time. But it was time to leave....

I wasn't yet a teenager when I came across a book where a girl, a little older than me, knew she was about to die. It was night, and I was pushing my bedtime by staying up and reading this book. By page 30 I had given up. It was as if 30 copies of the same book had been stacked up on my chest and I had to deal with them first to move to page 31....

TW: body image I look in the mirror to see a portrait unknown, squinting closely I see the curves and alas, wasn't that where the story began? The curves, the paleness and the freckles, so familiar. I look away before the portrait becomes clear, but fret not my heart’s whispers, for my mind has already coloured it black. With a moment's courage, I look back, and the black stains scream in my head....

There's a thorn in my side. Piercing its way through my skin, over my rib cage, up my spine, slowly wrapping around my lungs. Steadily. Painfully. It tightens whenever you're not around.I cough up your name, leave blood on the ground. I've had it for as long as I can remember. It's omnipresent and needy. I feed it with my own needs....
