Architails We Capture architectural Details
Do check us on Instagram..! ARCHITAILS IS A JOURNEY OF EXPLORERS, FROM MUMBAI.
(2)

THE JOURNEY STARTED OFF IN 2015, WITH PERSPICUOUS IDEAS. THE IDEAS THAT RENDERED THE EXISTENCE OF BIJOU DETAILS IN A BUILDING. THE DETAILS THAT LET THE BUILDINGS BREATHE AND FUNCTION,
AND COME OUT AS A LIVELY SPACE FOR SOULS TO WHISPER IN, FOR ERAS TO COME. CAPTURING DETAILS AND SHARING THEM ON THE SOCIAL PLATFORMS, LET OUR IDEAS REACH THE SOCIETY.

Bandra villages have existed since time immemorial.
The bungalows and houses here are rich in architecture, and here is one of the houses we spotted while exploring the RANWAR village.
The bungalows here are primarily timber construction and don the Indo-Portuguese-Colonial style. The house that you see here has an entrance porch called balcões (covered porches) and verandas facing the street. Typically the houses with larger balcões had built-in seating, open to the street, where men and women could sit together and ‘see and be seen’, chat with their neighbours, or just enjoy the evening breeze. These balcões are commonly bordered by ornamental columns that sometimes continued along the steps and added to the stature of the house.

Stay tuned to our page for more photos in the series.

EYE FILM INSTITUTE
Delugan Meissl architects, specialize in buildings that appear to be in motion.
EYE Film Institute Netherlands is one such Dutch archive and museum in Amsterdam that preserves and presents both Dutch and foreign films screened in the Netherlands.
An aerodynamic structure that would stand out anywhere, the motion-picture museum is a particular sensation in this city of stolid brick buildings.
Smooth, crystalline surfaces reflect the incoming light in varied ways, thus creating permanent optical changes throughout the day,’ says architect Roman Delugan of Vienna-based Delugan Meissl Associated Architects.

Double Tree by HILTON, this upscale riverside hotel, designed by Bennetts associaties.

The hotel has a beguiling facade, which is a complex series of layers, consisting of movable perforated shutters, glazing and brickwork, echoing the spirit of traditional Dutch architecture.
The south-facing elevation incorporates the most brickwork in response to the architecture of the old town which it faces, whilst the east and west facades and bridges.

Between the three blocks are predominantly glazed, reflecting the architectural language of the more contemporary parts of the city.

All internal courtyard-facing facades are clad in red zinc, responding to the changing quality of light to this central area.

Stay tuned for this current Europe series.

J A A L I W O R K
Rajasthan.
Jaali (perforated stone or latticed screen) is one such element of architecture that has been an effective tool in addressing environmental comfort.

The jali helps in lowering the temperature by compressing the air through the holes.
It not only cuts the glare but lets illumination through, not affecting the intensity of light.
It makes the view more convenient to Indian notions of privacy.
From within, everything outside is visible through Jaali holes but from the outside, nothing gets visible inside due to light difference.
This best suited privacy notions and therefore was synonymous to Rajput and Islamic architecture .

G A N D H I S M A R A K
S A N G H R A L A Y
AHMEDABAD.
A museum and a public service institution dedicated to preserve the work and memory and commemorate the life of the great Mahatma Gandhi.(M.K. Gandhi )
Designed by Ar. Charles Correa .
The structure of the museum recalls the well-known work of Louis Kahn.
The modular simplicity of the structure is continued in the use of basic materials:
stone floors, brick walls, wooden doors , louvred windows devoid of glass, and tiled roofs.
RCC channels which act as beams and as rainfall conduits - and which permit additional construction to be added in future !! Originally designed as 51 modular units, each 6 x 6 metres, surrounding a water court.
The units are grouped in a consciously asymmetric manner to be analogous to the Indian village with its pathways and its meeting points.

Happy birthday Mahatma Gandhi. 🙏
