About Tirukkural
Tirukkural is an ancient Literature. It was written 2,000 years ago by St. Thiruvalluvar. It contains 1,300 short verses; each is a pearl of wisdom. Albert Shweiter acclaimed is as a collection of maxims unparalled in World literature. Gandhiji wanted to learn Tamil so that he could study Tirukkural in its orgin language. Tirukkural’s maxims encompass every walk of life; Business management is no exception. Successful management barons all over the world are following the principles laid down in Tirukkural. This book throws light on Some of these principles and practices.

About the Author
Prof. R.K. Subramanian was the first Head of the Department of Management Studies of the Kalasalingam University, TamilNadu. He started his career in the Annamalai University; later he moved on to the Thiagarajar College of Engineering, where he taught Industrial Management for more than 20 years. Simultaniously, he was a visiting Proffessor for more than 15 years in the Thiagarajar School of Management. For nearly two decades, he was also the Liasion Officer for the Madurai Centre of all India Consumer Panel Survey conducted by the Textiles ministry of the Govt. of India. His first book, “An outline of Humanities and Industrial Management” was the bible for all the Engineering students in Tamil Nadu in 1970’s and 80’s. The present volume is an introduction to tirukkural for the non-Tamil readers and an introduction to management to the non-B School Scholars.
