2. 54 flood related deaths till now
3. 33 districts out of 35 districts of assam affected

Facts about Zunheboto's "Sumi Baptist Church"...

Facts:
1: Asia's one of the largest Baptist churches.

2: It was founded in the year 1942. However, the construction has started in the year 2007 and was completed in 2017.

3. to Built this beautiful church more than 2000 workers participated in the construction.

4. It has 27 rooms and a seating capacity of 8,500. In 2017, the church had an attendance of 10,000 people.

5. The church measures 23,73,476 Sq.ft in plinth area and has a blue dome and white turrets

6. The church BELL was imported from Poland & it weighs 500kgs. The bell is made of 93% Brass and 7% Tin.

7. Important fact is that it has 1.5kms radial sound Reach

GOOD NEWS for us Northeasterners...

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that Guwahati will soon be connected with eight South and Southeast Asia (SEA) cities, Times Of India reported.

Two other NE capitals which are to be connected with the SEA cities include Agartala and Imphal, reports said.

Sources of TOI have said that the Centre has proposed to start operation to and from

Agartala-Dhaka,
Agartala-Chittagong,
Guwahati-Bangkok,
Guwahati-Kathmandu,
Guwahati-Yangon,
Guwahati-Hanoi,
Imphal-Mandalay,
Imphal-Bangkok and
Imphal-Kunming

routes under the regional air connectivity scheme, UDAN.
The Ministry has also proposed to connect Bhubaneshwar with Singapore, Bangkok and Abu Dhabi under the UDAN scheme, reports said.

Tripura Chief Minister (CM) Biplab Kumar Deb expressed his gratitude for this initiative through Twitter and wrote," "Finally, MBB Airport in Agartala is now set to have international flight service with Dhaka and Chittagong. My heartfelt thanks to Modi ji and Scindia ji for this initiative to fulfill the dream of the people of Tripura."

"The proposed international flight service with Bangladesh will surely boost Tripura's tourism and take the state to a new height in terms of air connectivity. It will also benefit the people of Bangladesh in various ways and strengthen the cordial relation between the two countries," Deb further added.

People of the northeastern states have been demanding air connectivity with SEA cities to build regional tourism and trade.

Me-Dam-Me-Phi is the most important Ancestor worship communal festival celebrated by the Ahom people on 31st January every year in memory of the departed since the 12th Century. It is the manifestation of the concept of ancestor worship that the Ahoms share with other people originating from the Tai stock. It is a festival to show respect to the departed ancestors and remember their contribution to society.

Me-Dam-Me-Phi celebration is basically the worship of the ancestors among the Ahoms. Literally, 'Me' means offerings, 'Dam' means the ancestors and 'Phi' means god. Basically it is offering of oblations to the dead and sacrifices to God seeking divinity in the dead.
