Sekonic C-800 SpectroMaster: A Professional Color Meter with SSI to Facilitate Grading in Post.
Sekonic has announced a new color meter: The C-800 SpectroMaster which employs SSI (Spectral Similarity Index) that can be used as an essential tool in production to utilize post production processes. Learn more below.
The Sekonic Spectromaster C-800 aims to offer ultra-precise color measuring performance designed specifically for cinematographers and photographers. Let’s explain the differentiation of the C-800 in comparison to the other models.
SSI (Spectral Similarity Index):
When you have to deal with two lights with the same color temperature, or similar CRI (color rendering index) but the look is different, than the SSI technology gives the user the ability to set any light as a standard, or use predefined standards, and then gives other lights an SSI score based upon how well they will match. In other words, you can the SSI lets you choose the primary light source as a reference. A lot of post production time can be saved regarding the color grading process.
According to Sekonic, the C-800 is the first and only meter to include SSI, as stated by Sekonic: “It is the first and only meter to include SSI (Spectral Similarity Index) developed by the Sci-Tech Council of the Academy. SSI gives the user the ability to set any light as a standard, or use predefined standards (such as CIE D55), and then gives other lights an SSI score based upon how well they will match. “
TLCI, TLMF, TM-30-15:
The C-800 also includes TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index), TLMF (Television Lighting Matching Factor), and TM-30-15 (Technical Memorandum), in addition to CRI (Color Rendering Index) which can be measured singularly or in two light comparison mode.

#Story: Two school students Ashik and Tanmay in their own dreams try to impress their classmate Pooja by giving her the most favorite food made of Paneer. Pooja in turn is highly impressed and falls in love with Ashik and Tanmay in their dreams. Ashik and Tanmay suddenly wake up from their dreams and see that Pooja standing behind them. They both offer her their food made of Paneer to impress her and each one expects she would fall in love with them as seen in their dreams. Pooja tastes the food from both of them. While Ashik and Tanmay expect Pooja to fall in love with them, Pooja says that she loves Paneer. And the two stand heartbroken.

Story: Sita and Gita are twins. Sita is a pure vegetarian while Gita can’t live without chicken even for a single day. One day Gita watches television to find that all the chicken in the country has gone for vacation and Gita feels shocked as if her world is going to end without eating chicken. On seeing Gita worried, Sita provides an alternative food source – Paneer. Gita tastes Paneer and feels amazed as if she has tasted the world’s best food. From then on Gita becomes a fan for Paneer.
