World Animal Day - October 4
World Animal Day is celebrated around the world to create awareness about wildlife among the people.
In India, we produce more than 120 crore kilograms of tea every year on 6.37 lakh hectares of land. And it is one of the major players in the world as well as in our economy.
But behind this, there are stories of people, animals, and forests. For example, elephants are one of the biggest mammals on land eating 160 kg of food every day.
They use the same path their ancestors once used, but ramping deforestation left the forests defragmented, leading to Human-Animal Conflict.
