The Kannada and Telugu scripts share very high mutual intellegibility with each other, and are often considered to be regional variants of single script. Other scripts similar to Kannada script are Sinhala script (which included some elements from the Kadamba script), and Old Peguan script (used in Burma).

ಬ್ಯಾಡರಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಬಿ.ಇ.ಎಲ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 3:45 ಸಂಜೆ, ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಬ್-ಇನ್‌ಸ್ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ಅವರು, ಅಕಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಗಿ 10 ಅಡಿಯ ನೀರಿನ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಜಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದ 2.5 ವರ್ಷದ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಲು ನೀರಿನ ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು, ಮಗುವಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ತಪ್ಪಿದ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿ, ಮಗುವಿನ ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿದ ಶ್ರೇಯ‌ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಆರಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲುತ್ತದೆ.
