*Cyber Police Urges for Responsible Social-media Use In Kashmir*

Srinagar, Dec 10 (GNS): Cyber Police Kashmir on Sunday issued an advisory urging social media users in the region to exercise responsibility aimed at discouraging spread of rumors, fake news, hate speech, and inappropriate content.

“All the social media users are advised to use social media platform responsibly and refrain from sharing rumours, fake news, hate speech or obscene, violent and defamatory content,” reads an advisory issued by Cyber Police, as per GNS.

“Moreover, social media users are cautioned not to indulge in propagation of terrorist and secessionist ideology and false narrative.”

“Circulation of any incriminatory content received from other users without verifying the actual facts may be avoided and on noticing/receiving any such information, instead of sharing with others, immediately inform Cyber Police Kashmir. Stay informed, be responsible,” the advisory further added. (GNS)

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KS) : The Director General of Police, J&K, R.R. Swain paid a solemn visit to the home of the martyr Inspector Masroor Ahmad Wani in Srinagar today and expressed deep condolences and shared grief with the bereaved family.

in a statement issued to the news agency Kashmir Scroll said that the DGP was accompanied by ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar, IG Kashmir V. K. Birdi and other officers to share the grief of the family.

The DGP met the father and other members of the family and conveyed that J&K Police family will remember the supreme sacrifice of the martyr for decades to come. He assured that the institutional strength of J&K Police will take care of the family.

R. R. Swain along with other officers also visited Military Hospital BB Cantt. Srinagar to enquire about the health of the injured Police Selection Grade Constable Mohammad Hafeez who was fired upon by terrorist yesterday evening on his right arm and right side abdomen.

The DGP met the doctors treating the official and impressed for all possible treatment for his early recovery. He assured the injured that all possible help and assistance will be provided.(KS)

*Unregistered News Portal Alleged of Circulating Fake News Busted, 2 Held in Kupwara*

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KS): An unregistered news portal alleged of circulating fake news was busted and two persons involved in managing the site were arrested in Kupwara district, officials said.

The officials informed news agency Kashmir Scroll that J&K Police's CIK wing busted the unregistered news portal by the name "Daily News & Analysis," with a Pakistan flag logo, circulating fake news.

"The two site admins/managers namely Zahoor Ahmad Khan and Abdul Rouf Peer, from Kupwara, were arrested for spreading rumours to disturb peace and tranquillity", the official said.

"Several digital devices were seized from the duo, which are under investigation", the official added. (KS)

Srinagar, Dec 10 (KS): A government teacher died of suspected cardiac arrest while dispensing duties during JKSSB's Panchayat Secretary exams died of suspected cardiac arrest on Sunday, officials said.

The officials told news agency Kashmir Scroll that one Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Khaliq Dar, of Nanil, posted at Boys Middle School Muniwar Anantnag, fell unconscious while on duty at Al-Sarwat School Krangsoo.

The teacher, the officials said, was immediately taken to DH Anantnag, where the doctors declared him as brought dead on arrival. (KS)

Resai, Dec 10 (KS): A driver among three others were killed after a JCB machine turned turtle in Resai district, officials said.

An official told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that a JCB machine turned turtle at Sungri on Saturday late at night, resulting in the death of three people, including a driver.

The officials identified the deceased as Munshi Nitish Kumar, Rajinder Singh, and another operator.

The officer said a case has been registered and further investigation has been initiated. (KS)

*SKIMS announces winter vacation for faculty members from Jan 01 next year*

Srinagar, Dec 08 (KNO): Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura on Saturday announced winter vacation for the faculty members in two phases from January 01 next year.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the winter vacation for faculty staff of SKIMS will be due from January 01 to 28 (1st half) and February 01 to 28 (2nd half).

The order states that in this behalf all heads are requested to furnish the names of faculty members who are desirous to avail 1st half/2nd half of vacation.

"It may be kept in view that 50% of faculty staff is available in the department for both the halves. Heads of departments must ensure that one amongst the senior faculty members remains available in the department during each half of vacation, wherever possible. No change will be entertained after receipt of the roster from the concerned Heads of Departments," it reads.

It added that the administration has right to call back any faculty member during vacation, in case of emergencies.

"It is reiterated that the vacation roaster of faculty members proceeding on vacation shall not be entertained unless their residential addresses/contact numbers are recorded therein," it added.

It reads that further, it should be specifically mentioned in the roster whether any station leaving permission is required or not.

"No faculty member on duty will be permitted to avail any leave for attending conference/Seminar/Workshop entailing station permission," it read—(KNO)

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): BJP J&K President, Ravinder Raina expressed confidence in India's democratic values and the legal system ahead of the Supreme Court's verdict on Article 370, scheduled for Monday.

Speaking to reporters at Church Lane in Srinagar, Raina, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “India is a democratic country governed by the rule of law, and we all have faith in our legal system and courts.”

“We all are ready to support and accept the court’s decision,” he said, adding, “During the hearings, both parties and the opposition presented their views in court, and the Supreme Court telecast the Article 370 proceedings online, allowing the entire population of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as the world, to witness the process.”

The J&K BJP chief expressed hope that everyone in Jammu and Kashmir and across the country would respect the apex court’s decision, which he said is “above politics”. “The court's decision is more significant than politics, and we all have to accept it,” he added.

He urged other political parties, including the National Conference, People's Democratic Party, Congress, Peoples Conference and Apni Party to also accept the final decision by the Supreme Court.

Regarding elections and seat reservations in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Raina said, “I want elections to be held here as early as possible; and like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, BJP will win here as well with a majority.”

He proposed provisions for nominated MLAs, including two women—one a Kashmiri migrant and another from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir residing in India—to represent their respective communities. “This way, they can speak on behalf of their people,” he said.

The BJP leader further suggested including nominated MLAs from various communities, such as Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, Muslim migrants and other groups. “They should be given preference,” he said—(KNO)

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): Under the much-hyped Smart City project, the government is all set to come up with a couple more wire-free markets as well as a wooden bridge being constructed at the site of Old Amir Kadal bridge, which would be completed by the next four months.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), Athar Aamir Khan as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the work on various projects is in full swing at present including in downtown areas as well.

“In Shehr-e-Khaas, various projects like Dalagte-Gojwara road, Nalaimar Road, typical heritage markets including Zaina Kadal, Malarata stretch, Nawa Bazaar, Nawa Kadal, Karan Nagar and other projects have already been already taken up,” he said.

Khan further stated that besides roads, the work on sewerage and other related things have been started; the drainage networks are being laid while underground electricity is also being done in Zaina Kadal and Malaratta. “Like Residency Road, the work to lay the underground wires is being done also in heritage markets of the downtown including Zaina Kadal and Malaratta,” he said.

He added three types of roads are being designed at present, which include vehicle priority, shared streets and specifically for pedestrians for which tile paths and other things are being done.

About the heritage buildings, he said some of these buildings have deteriorated and to restore the façade, the work has been divided into four parts.

“At least 6-7 agencies are working in downtown areas at present and the work is being monitored on a daily basis,” he said.

He also informed that a wooden bridge is coming up at Amira Kadal, saying that the new wooden bridge is being constructed at the site of Old Amir Kadal bridge to integrate Lal Chowk and Riverfront with Hari Singh High Street, Goni Khan, Maharaja Bazar and other adjacent parts.

“The work to construct the bridge has been already started while a load testing was needed and is being done at present with NIT,” he said, adding that the work has been started in a full-fledged way and the project is expected to be completed in the next 3-4 months.

He also stated that Goni Khan, Maharaj bazar, Hari Singh High Street are being designed as plazas for the people.

Furthermore, he appealed the people to ensure maintenance of the projects being constructed by the government—(KNO)

Bandipora, December 09: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal Saturday visited different areas of Bandipora district and took stock of Rabi Crop Scenario.

Besides different Crop fields, Director Agriculture inspected soil testing laboratory and initiated sowing preparations under Hi-tech polyhouses at Aloosa Bandipora.

Speaking to the farmers, Director Agriculture said that the department is committed to the development of the farming community of the region. He directed the concerned officers to provide all the technical guidance to the farmers especially to those who have brought new lands under the cultivation of different rabi crops. He asked the officers to remain in close touch with the farmers who have introduced new vegetable crops under Controlled conditions.

During the visit to the soil testing lab, Director Agriculture said that the purpose of Soil Health Card scheme is served only when it is ensured that the farmers use insecticides, pesticides, fertilizers etc strictly as per the recommendation of soil health card provided to them by the department.

Earlier, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora, Javed Ahmad Samoon gave a detailed report of the agriculture scenario in the district. He informed the director about the successful implementation of the different centrally sponsored schemes in the district.

Bandipora Dec 09: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir Zone,VK Birdi on Saturday in a security review meeting Bandipora instructed officers to remain vigilant and identify individuals with malicious intentions, aiming to disturb the peace, tranquility, and engage in activities related to terror and drugs.

As per the statement, the police said that the security meeting attended by DIG NKR Baramulla Vivek Gupta-IPS, SSP Bandipora Lakshay Sharma-IPS, Addl. SP Bandipora Sandeep Bhat-JKPS and other officers of the district.

According to police spokesman, IGP Kashmir while chairing the meeting stressed upon strengthening collaboration between different law enforcement agencies for seamless information sharing and joint operations besides, exploring innovative technologies to augment existing security infrastructure and response capabilities. He stressed upon the officers to increase focus on human intelligence alongwith technical inputs to flush out the inimical elements besides exhorted upon to take stringent action against any person or organization supporting anti-national activities.

He also stressed upon the officers to keep a hawk’s eye on the situation and identify the people with nefarious designs who are hell bent to disturb the atmosphere of peace & tranquillity, he said.

Highlighting the approach to combat the drug menace, VK Birdi said that law enforcement agencies are committed to intensifying operations and adopting advanced techniques to dismantle drug networks. IGP Kashmir directed for finalization of the pending cases/public complaints to give the relief to the general public and directed for speedy disposal of cases assigned to them for conducting the investigation, he said.

The IGP reiterated the significance of community participation in maintaining vigilance and urged citizens to remain vigilant while assuring them of continued efforts to enhance security measures. He briefed the officers to ensure the highest standards of public safety and urged to work impartially and take stern action against any violation of the law, reads the statement.

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNO): A police man was shot at and injured at Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that terrorists attacked a police man identified as Hafiz Ahmed Son of Ghulam Hassan, resident of Mathiya bund, Hamdaniya Colony, Srinagar. “He was injured in the right arm and abdomen,” the official said.

Reliable sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that militants fired upon on police cop identified as Hafiz Ahmad son of Ghulam Hassan Chat of Mathiya Bund Hamdania colony Bemina. He was has been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be critical.

*Senior Hezbollah leader’s son killed in Israeli drone strike*

Tel Aviv, Dec 9: The Hezbollah on Saturday said Hassan Ali Dakdouk, the son of Ali M***a Dakdouk, who is reportedly in charge of the organisation’s operations in southern Syria, was killed, reportedly in Israeli drone attack.

Ali M***a Dakdouk was responsible for training pro-Iranian militias in Iraq for attacking American forces.

He was detained by US forces in Iraq in 2007, but was later released.

Four people who were killed were from Hezbollah while one was a Syrian. The deaths happened in an alleged Israeli drone strike against a vehicle near the Syrian border in the Golan Heights.

Israel and Hezbollah were engaged in exchange of fire across the Lebanese border in which several Israelis were injured.–(IANS)

Kotiswar Singh The Chief Justice of High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Patron in Chief JKLSA and Mr. Justice Tashi Rabstan, Executive Chairman, 4th National Lok Adalat was organized today in District Court Complex Budgam and Taluka Courts of District Budgam.

Bench No. 7 comprised of Ms. Fakhar un Nissa (Munsiff JMIC Chararisharief) and Mr. N.A Mashooq (President, Bar Association Chararisharief) Bench No. 8 Comprised of Mr. Ubaid ul Khazir (District Social Welfare Officer Budgam) and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Parray (Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Budgam) ) Bench No. 9 Comprised of Mr. Zamir Ali (Assistant Labour Commissioner Budgam) and Mr. Farooq Ahmad (Labour Inspector Budgam). Cases for settlement included cases of Civil, Criminal Compoundable, Cheque bounce, Bank matters, MACT, Land Compensation, Matrimonial, Electricity and Pre-litigation matters.

Further, Pre-litigation matters were taken up, which included PDD matters, bank recovery matters, PHE cases, Social Welfare Schemes, Labour, Revenue, Matrimonial disputes, land disputes, BSNL cases, municipality cases and other Government schemes etc.

Nonetheless, a total number of 788 matters were taken up for their amicable settlement, out of which 449 matters were settled. Besides, an amount of Rs.9,13,53,115/- was realized in total in the settlement. (GNS)

*Woman Cricketer from Kashmir Jasia Akhtar Goes Unsold in WPL Auction for Upcoming Season*

Srinagar, Dec 9 (GNS): Sole woman Cricketer from Kashmir Valley up for auction has gone unsold at a ceremony underway at Mumbai.

Jasia (35), who had become the only woman Cricketer to feature in WPL after being bought by Delhi for a base price of ₹20 Lakh in last edition, failed to attract the bidders as she went unsold in the second round of the auction for the WPL edition 2024.

Jasia, a resident of Braripora village, some 63 kms south of Srinagar, is a right-hand top order batter who has made her foray into Women's T20 cricket at various national level tournaments. (GNS)

*Mohammed Aashiq wins the title on ‘MasterChef India’*

Mumbai, Dec 9: Mohammed Aashiq from Mangalore is declared the MasterChef for this season on the streaming cooking show ‘MasterChef India’.

The journey for the homecook is all the more inspirational as he found himself in the 1st elimination round of this season but his love for the art of cooking propelled him to eventually take home the trophy.

Before gracing the MasterChef India kitchen, Aashiq ran his own juice shop, where he showcased his love for the art of cooking and his creative flair by crafting unique recipes that delighted his patrons.

Nambie Jessica Marak, secured the position of First Runner-up, whereas Rukhsaar Sayeed, claimed the title of Second Runner-up.

Shedding light on his remarkable journey, Mohammed Aashiq said: “I am immensely grateful for the whirlwind journey I’ve had on ‘MasterChef India’. From facing elimination to holding the trophy, every moment was a profound lesson. This experience has completely reshaped my life, and winning this esteemed title feels surreal.”

He further mentioned: “Coming back with stronger determination after narrowly missing out last season was tough, but I devoted myself entirely to the culinary craft. This victory isn’t just mine; it’s for every dreamer who defies the odds to chase their aspirations. I owe immense gratitude to the judges- Chef Vikas, Ranveer, and Pooja fellow contestants, the audience, and all the renowned chefs who pushed me to perform better with each passing day in the kitchen. I’ve grown significantly and noticed a remarkable shift in my cooking skills, all thanks to an incredible boot camp experience.”
