A common explanation for Mark 7 today is "Jesus clearly revokes the kosher dietary laws." Context is totally ignored.

Note the PARENTHESES the New International Version (NIV) in Mark 7 are added comments. They are NOT found in the text but background information. While added information many times is helpful in understanding, when it draws a conclusion not found in the text it's not only misleading, but can be flat out wrong. The NIV offers some insight to the exchange between Jesus/Yeshua and the Pharisees, but then makes a conclusion which is not factual.

"The Pharisees and some of the teachers of the law who had come from Jerusalem gathered around Jesus and saw some of his disciples EATING FOOD WITH HANDS THAT AER DEFILED, THAT IS UNWASHED. (The Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they give their hands a ceremonial washing, holding to the tradition of the elders. When they come from the marketplace they do not eat unless they wash. And they observe many other traditions, such as the washing of cups, pitchers and kettles.)

So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, โ€œWhy donโ€™t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?โ€

He replied, โ€œIsaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:

โ€˜These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.โ€™

You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.โ€

And he continued, โ€œYou have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! For Moses said, โ€˜Honor your father and mother,โ€™ and, โ€˜Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.โ€™ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)โ€” then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.โ€

Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, โ€œListen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.โ€

After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. โ€œAre you so dull?โ€ he asked. โ€œDonโ€™t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesnโ€™t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.โ€ (IN SAYING THIS JESUS DECLARED ALL FOODS CLEAN.)

This exchange between Yeshua and the Pharisees in Mark 7 was about the tradition of hand washing, which is not a command of God/Yahweh. Yeshua was NOT referring to the dietary law. He did NOT make "all foods clean."

In Acts 15:17-21, the disciples, addressing the integration of Gentiles into the faith, make a pivotal decision in their letter highlighting the significance of the Torah in the life of new believers. ๐Ÿ“–

"Therefore, I judge not to trouble those from among the Gentiles (nations) who are turning to Godโ€” but to write to them to abstain from the contamination of idols, and sexual immorality, and from what is strangled, and from blood. For Moses from ancient generations has had in every city those who proclaim Him since he is read in all the synagogues every Shabbat.โ€

Could it be that the disciples were writing to Gentiles and telling them to obey some Torah commands? ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Jerusalem Council's wisdom emphasizes that Torah observance begins with key principles, allowing new believers to grow into fuller understanding and practice. It's a testament to the living nature of the Torah, inviting all, Jew and Gentile alike, to be grafted into the olive branch.

HE WASN'T TALKING ABOUT HIS FEAST DAYS!

Amos 5:21: "I hate, I reject your festivals, nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies."

The verbs โ€œto hateโ€ and โ€œto rejectโ€ display YHWH's strong feelings. It was not His own feasts the LORD despised, but the way the people were keeping them.

They had turned the LORD's feasts into religious practices, which were void of honesty and sincerity. YHWH is offended by religious ceremonialism.

Worship should be in the way the Father prescribed, from the heart and in conjunction with love toward the Father and one another.

Yeshua reinforced being right with our brothers and sisters before we worship, Matthew 5:23-24, "Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."

Scripture teaches us about the wonderful and holy feast days YHWH commands us to keep. He calls them โ€œMy feastsโ€ in Leviticus 23:2. Later in the Scripture, we learn when YHWH Kingdom is set up on earth, all nations will keep His feasts (Zechariah 14:16).

Yeshua did not change the importance of keeping all of the Commandments. The two Commandments of Yeshua, loving ๐ค‰๐ค„๐ค…๐ค„ and loving your neighbor, are a summation of the Law and Torah. In fact, Yeshua says, โ€œOn these two Commandments hang/ depend all the Law and the Prophets/Torahโ€ (Matthew 22:40).

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them. For I tell you truly, until heaven and earth pass away, not a single jot, not a stroke of a pen, will disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. So then, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do likewise will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:18).

โ€œDo we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Law" (Romans 3:31) .

"He who possesses My Commands and keeps them, is he who love Me" (John 14:21).

"His commandments are not grievous/burdensome" (1 John 5:3).

In Matthew 5:17, Yeshua said He came to fulfill the law, to PLEROO the Law of God. The Greek word PLEROO means to fully preach. This means that Yeshua said He came to FULLY PREACH the Law of God. Yeshua did not abolish the Law: "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah -- not until everything that must happen has happened. So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot (words/commands) and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:17-19).

We keep the Commandments out of love, not to ensure salvation:
โœฟ "If you love Me, keep My Commandments" (John 14:15, 21).

โœฟ "By this we know that we love the children (brethren) of YHWH, when we love YHWH and keep His Commandments" (I John 5:2).

โœฟ "For this is the love of YHWH that we keep His Commandments, and His Commandments are not grievous" (1 John 5:3).
โœฟ "He that keeps His Commandments dwells in Him and He in him" (I John 4:16-17).

Testing Peterโ€™s Faith to Walk on Water
Right away, Yeshua made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He sent the crowds away. After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the hillside by Himself to pray. And when evening came, He was there alone. But the boat was already a long way from land, tossed around by the waves, for the wind was against it. Now in the fourth watch of the night, Yeshua came to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, โ€œItโ€™s a ghost!โ€ And they cried out with fear.

But immediately, Yeshua spoke to them, saying, โ€œTake courage! I am. Donโ€™t be afraid.โ€

Answering, Peter said to Him, โ€œMaster, if itโ€™s You, command me to come to You on the water.โ€

And He said, โ€œCome!โ€

KEEP THE SHABBAT HOLY:
1. The Shabbat is a day to cease our creating and appreciate what the Father has done (Genesis 2).

2. It's a time of worship (Isaiah 66:23).

3. The Shabbat is an holy convocation (public gathering). We should meet and worship with others (Leviticus 23).

4. Do no hard labor or work (Exodus 20:8-11).

5. No major cooking on the Shabbat. Elaborate food preparation is to be done on the day before the Shabbat (Exodus 16).

6. Be reverent and show Elohim that we love, honor and respect His authority (Psalms 89:7, Habakkuk 2:20).

7. The Shabbat is a day of delight and rejoicing. This is a day which we forsake our thoughts and words for Yahweh's thoughts and words (Isaiah 56, 58).

8. We are not to buy or sell on the Shabbat (Nehemiah 13).

9. The Shabbat is a time of healing (Matthew 12, Mark 1, 3, Luke 13-14).

10. It's a time of prayer (Acts 16:13).

11. A time to do spiritual work by serving others (John 5). It's a time to reason with others about spiritual principles and teach the Word of Elohim (Acts 17:2, 18:4, 11).

12. It's a time for praise and singing (Ephesians 5:19-20, Colossians 3:16, Psalms 92 is called the โ€œShabbat Psalmโ€).

OVERCOME BITTERNESS THROUGH THE WORD OF ื™ื”ื•ื”โ€Ž ELOHIM

"Bitterness. When you hold on to hurt, resentment, or a grudge, then youโ€™re not going to be able to hear God, because your heart is hardened. It has grown cold and made you defensive, even to Godโ€™s love.

Hebrews 12:15
"If you have a bitter root, it affects others whether you see it or not. By removing that bitter root, you preserve peace and faith among your relatives, friends, coworkers, and others. It's worth the fight not only for you but for everyone else who is involved."

The key to dealing with bitterness is forgiveness. When you forgive, you release the other person from responsibility for their mistakes. You can trust God to deal with your suffering with perfect justice. Then you can be free from the shackles of bitterness.

The person who has offended you does not need to apologize or make amends for forgiveness to have a healing effect on him. Forgiveness is an act of your will. No contact with the abuser is required. It is just an act of faith between you and God.

Bible Verses to Help You Fight Bitterness:

Matthew 6:14
"For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

"Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up." โ€“ Psalm 71:20

Every person has difficult seasons that can feel bitter. But God promises to give us restoration. He wants us to place our hope in him so we can overcome our bitterness. He doesnโ€™t want us to stay stuck in our troubles but to move forward with his guidance.

"I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lordโ€™s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." โ€“ Lamentations 3:19-23

Go! and SIN NO MORE!โ€

Did you know that our Adon Yeshua himself taught not to violate the Torah of Elohim anymore.?

There was a story in the bible that Yeshua told a woman, that "You go and don't sin again."

In that story, we can learn that YESHUA teaches us to obey God's Torah LAW, HIS instructions and TEACHINGS in order for us not to commit SIN anymore.

In John chapter 8 verse 10-11
we can read:
Standing up, Yeshua said to her, โ€œWhere are they? Has no one condemned you?โ€ She said, โ€œNo one, sir.โ€

Yeshua said, โ€œNeither do I condemn you. Now go, and donโ€™t sin any more."

it's very clear from the mouth of our Messiah Yeshua that we should not violate the torah anymore.

He didn't say go and violate the Torah again but he said go and don't violate the Torah again.

Our Mashiach Yeshua encourage us not to violate the Torah anymore!

In order for us to understand the meaning of Sin, let us read first John chapter 3 verse 4. it says, "Everyone who keeps sinning is violating Torah โ€” indeed, sin is violation of Torah."

Did you know that those who obey the Torah will be declared righteous?

In Romans 2: verse 13 says, ''For it is not those who hear the Torah (law) who are righteous in Godโ€™s sight, but it is those who obey the Torah (law) who will be declared righteous.''

Yeshua encourage us, after we recieved the Forgiveness of God, its time not to violate the Torah again.
