About Tim Hourigan
My interest in music started a young age. I was about 10 years old and by that time had frequently been surrounded by music and performers. A major part of these experiences were from watching some of my siblings and my father perform , more so my father, who often was the one to sing and play guitar at countless various occasions. I was always left in awe, as were most, at my fathers’ performances.
As I continued to grow, I continued to sing, learning from different songs and singing along with various 90’s music that inspired me.
By 16, I had grown hungry for more, eager to take my knowledge and experience to the next step. This time, I spoke with my Dad, who introduced me to acoustic guitar, encouraging me with some quick lessons and easy tabs of some classic Irish ballads and country. From here, the years just rolled by as I kept learning more on rhythm guitar and singing, and even starting on original songwriting. I spent, at least, the next decade diving into different bands and genres that caught my interest, and studied the many aspects and influences. I had spells in many genres ranging from, rock, pop, blues, metal, and funk. (To name a few)
Now, after over 20+ years of singing and songwriting, I continue to branch out, and more importantly have fun, with many new different instruments such as drums, bass, and keyboards, which in turn have steered me towards my newest interest. Film making.
