On the Discover New England post-Summit FAM trip, we took in the beautiful coastal town of Newport, Rhode Island.

We visited the opulent Breakers, one of many Gilded Age mansions that is open to the public and walked along the stunning Cliff Walk.

We also checked out The Sailing Museum and Newport Car Museum

Newport is in fact twinned with Kinsale in Co. Cork and it's clear that they share a love of sailing and seafood!

Rhode Island

On the Discover New England post-Summit FAM trip, we visited Rhode Island. While it might be the union's smallest state, the Ocean State is big on personality!

First stop was breakfast at the stunning, triple 5-star Ocean House RI hotel.

Next stop was a trip to the Matunuck Oyster Bar and Farm, where we learned how oysters are cultivated.

On the Discover New England post-Summit FAM trip, we took in the towns of Mystic and New Haven, Connecticut. In the morning we visited the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center and learned about the history and traditions of the Native American tribe. We also visited the Submarine Force Museum Association, Home of the USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear submarine.

In the afternoon, we toured the stunning Yale University and Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

New Haven is also famous for its pizza and was the birthplace of the hamburger sandwich (historical fact!) and yes, we tried them both while in town!

Day 4 of the Discover New England pre-Summit FAM trip and we visited the iconic Hall of Fame at the Patriot Place shopping and entertainment area that is adjacent to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.

New England resonates with history and on day 3 of the Discover New England pre-Summit FAM trip we visited the towns of Lexington and Concord, where he first shots of the American War of Independence were fired!

Lexington and Concord are only a 45-minute drive from downtown Boston.

Greater Merrimack Valley

On day 3 of the Discover New pre-Summit FAM trip, we visited Cambridge, MA. The city is part of the Greater Boston area and easily accessible by public transport. It's also an epicentre for innovation with Harvard University and MIT located there.

We toured the Kendall Square neighbourhood and learned about the incredible scientific breakthroughs that are being made in the city... We also got some awesome lobster rolls in Legal Sea Foods

Located about an hour north of Boston, the beautiful coastal town of Gloucester, Massachusetts was the second stop on the Discover New England pre-summit trade FAM trip.

Gloucester is thriving fishing port and we explored the intriguing history and heritage at Maritime Gloucester

We also checked out the truly unique Hammond Castle Museum, with awesome views of the harbour.

Dinner was a seafood extravaganza at the iconic Woodman's of Essex

We overnighted at the stunning Beauport Hotel Gloucester

North of Boston

First stop on the Discover New England pre-Summit trade and media FAM trip was Salem, Massachusetts. We explored the fascinating history of infamous witch trials, checked out Native American art at the Peabody Essex Museum , learned about the swashbuckling life at Real Pirates Salem and had some awesome fish taco's at Finz Seafood and Grill. North of Boston

We were delighted to assist with the production of the Boston episode of RTÉ travel show, High Road Low Road, which aired last night. Each episode features two celebrities: one who has a luxury experience, while the other has a budget-friendly time!

For this episode, 2FM DJ, Emma Power and celebrity chef, Nico Reynolds experienced some of the incredible sights, sounds and flavours of Boston. This included a stunning sunset helicopter tour over Boston, a visit to America's most beloved baseball stadium, Fenway Park and, of course, decadent lobster rolls!

The Boston episode aired on RTÉ One on 31st January and is available to view on the RTÉ Player now. The show will also be repeated on RTÉ One on Saturday 4th February at 1.35 pm.
