How & helped me solve a mystery: where in Ireland is Rosie O’Donnell?

B4 it became a cause célèbre, USA friends sent me Rosie’s TikTok announcement, knowing I’m keen on Americans moving to Ireland (like me in 2023). They asked WHERE she was. Her video didn’t say, but I guessed Howth (rhymes w/ “both”)—dog walks on cliffs, coastal images, fits a multimillionaire. Howth: raw, windswept, gorgeous, posh, near Dublin City Center & Airport, feels remote but isn’t.

Stunned when her move blew up after a reporter asked the Taoiseach about Rosie w/ Trump in the Oval Office.

Today, I confirmed my hunch. Her post showed her daughter in a car & a bay at low tide. Car pic had a “Max—“ petrol station sign. Asked for “Max” stations—Maxol, hundreds in Ireland. Asked for Maxol near coast: 5, 1 in North. Since she’s after Irish citizenship, 4 in Republic: Dublin 13, Clonakilty (Cork), Rosslare Harbour (Wexford), Bundoran (Donegal). Asked for near cliff walks—left w/ Maxol Sutton (Dublin 13, 5 km to Howth Cliff Walk) & Maxol Bundoran (Wild Atlantic Way, Bundoran/Rougey Cliff).

Entered “Maxol Sutton, Dublin Rd, Sutton, Dublin 13, D13 X4A9, Ireland” in Apple Maps—instantly matched sign & bay. Confirmed: Rosie’s in Howth.

Online hate at Rosie is misplaced—her views align w/ most Irish political parties & media. Few MAGA types here. She may return to USA but I bet Ireland suits her. Citizenship by Christmas, she might stay.

The New Rochelle DRAFT of Flag Policy (linked) is now public, and will be discussed at 4/9/24 City Council Meeting. After the controversy over the Israeli flag, it was agreed to shift authority from the City Manager to City Council. Notably, the proposed policy allows for displaying foreign flags ON or ABOVE City-owned buildings and property which Shane, the NewRo folks and other Yadira and David Peters supporters said was illegal (the ON buildings part). Shane also said he opposed display of ANY foreign flag. So, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
