Protest Action for Quindon Bacchus
A protest action has erupted along the East Coast Demerara Public Road (at the Golden Grove Market Junction), over the shooting to death of Quindon Bacchus.
Among the protesters are his mother and father, who are calling for justice for their son.
Bacchus was shot to death on Friday afternoon, at Haslington, E.C.D, by police officers.
According to Police reports, officers acting on information received swooped down on Bacchus, who allegedly had a firearm in his possession.
It is alleged that Bacchus while attempting to escape capture, fired several shots in the direction of the officers, who returned fire.
Bacchus' body was riddled with six bullets.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports also suggest that Bacchus was shot in retaliation to rumors that he was having an affair with the female partner of the officer, who pulled the trigger.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.

Noise Nuisance
Sheriff Street residents complain of noise nuisance by local bars.
The residents say that the police have not been able to adequately respond to their plight for months.
Residents claim that the two bars would play music excessively loud, into the wee hours of the morning.
On other occasions, they say that customers would be allowed to park their cars and blast music loudly, much to the annoyance and disturbance of neighbors; inclusive of school children, babies and the elderly.
The residents are calling on authorities yet again to intervene and bring an ease to their plight.
