Congratulations to KOITA FC

Juana Colley and Veronic Sambou of KOITA FC called to the Gambia National Female Team.

The club president Lamin Koita said it is a dream come through and more is coming for both his team in Bakoteh and Kudang.
The people of Kudang congratulate and celebrate there own and wish the girls the best of success.

TS United crowned Champions in the just concluded Kudang Under-15 tournament sponsored by Sarjo Touray.

In a scintillating encounter between TS United and Kerewan Demba FC that was decided by penalty shootout after a goalless 90minutes.

The TS United goalkeeper Lare Musa Ceesay saved 2 penalties and Lare Njie scored the winner for the Champions before running to the fans for a fancy celebration.
The players were awarded individual trophies and Sarjo Touray won the Golden Boot, Sarjo Sanneh won the Best player of the tournament, both from TS United.

According to the Chairman of the organising Committee Mr Edrisa Sanneh the tournament have registered a significant success with the participation of Kudang Manyo and the finalist Kerewan Demba. He concluded that the committee is committed to expand and include more teams in the 2024 edition because a line up of teams are interested to participate.

The final was graced by the Chairman of Niamina East FA Mr Sulayman Tunkara, veteran footballers like Alhaji Saikou Ceesay, Lamin Nyalo Marenah, Modou Keita of Sotokoi and the Sponsor Mr Sarjo Touray.

Congratulations to all teams for been discipline throughout the tournament.

KUDANG HEALTH CARAVAN 2.0

The Doctors, Nurses, Public Health Officers and Midwives of Kudang are conducting a Health Caravan in kudang on the 29th of September 2023 for the second phase. The team and the staff of the Kudang Health Centre will be screening and delivering health talks with natives and neighbourhood of Kudang. With focus on Diabetes and Hypertension.

The caravan have conducted a massive Health sensitisation, consultation, counselling and medication for over 500 patient. This was indeed possible thanks to the your donations and contributions. On that note we won't conclude without recognising people's like Dr Lamin Jontang Marenah, Forma Bambo Ceesay, Lamin K Ceesay et al, by far the entire community of Kudang for their contributions. Also companies and agencies like Stop Step harmacy, Medicare, and other philanthropist local and abroad.

Another Kudangka-yaa Manifested

The great Sons and Daughters of Alkamba in the teaching field have organise a FREE summer classes for the 5 graders of Kudang Primary School.
This is an initiative by natives headteachers, monitors and classroom teachers of Kudang who uses their holiday as an opportunity to share their knowledge with their brothers, sons, daughters and sisters.

For record Kudangkas are proud of you for this unprecedented gesture and this will be remembered for time in memorial.
These are few of the gallant teachers who initiated the studies program, namely:

Mr Alhaji Edrisa Ceesay
Mr Edrisa Sanneh
Mr Bubacarr Ceesay
Mr Lamin Kuyateh
Mr Surakata Ceesay
These teachers have inspired few of their colleagues to join them and we thank them for joining the crusade.

In conclusion, these type of initiative should be encouraged and supported to boost their morals to continue for other sectors to emulate. Like the health sector who could be referred to as the inspirators.

Keep it up to our young masters, monitors and teachers. Indeed the likes of late Yusupha Marenah, Late Mamadi Sanneh, retired Head master Bunja Mamanding Ceesay and Master Lang Fingtong Camara legacies lives on.

The Lundi bountung is not only the English version there is the Arabic version to it.

On Saturday two young natives of Kudang have successfully graduated from the Talinding Islamic Institute.
Yusupha Sukuta Fatty and Sanna Ebrima Touray have successfully completed the basic Arabic education at the prestigious Islamic Institute called Mahad.
Yusupha Fatty is the son of the Late Mbaa Sukuta Fatty Hydara of bless memories. The Deen is not knews to the Hydara's so Yusupha you are on the right track, keep it up. His colleagues Sanna Touray manding mori is the son of Mba Balangka Touray who's great grand parents are the first imams of Kudang, Sana keep it up.

Kudang welcomes the new promising young scholars to the list of Islamic scholars like Sheikh Amadou Tiana Sabally, Sheikh Muhammed Kaw Ceesay, Sheikh Ebrima Fayemballow Touray, Sheikh Bakary Sirandou Ceesay et al.

May Allah grant her Jannah

The death of Mariama Mboge is announce in Brikama. Nanding Firri is the Mother of Bora Ceesay, Mbake Ceesay, Satou Ceesay and Rohey Ceesay.
Before her demise yester night Nanading Firri was the only surviving Wife of the Late Kebba Fulaymata Ceesay and support pillar of his family and the Saikouba Sisay family.
She is known as a caring, unifying and a dedicated Muslim. Her unifying character Modibo, Mai and Sariba never felt the lost of their mom.
May her soul be granted jannah.

In a short message the prolific writer Bora Ceesay wrote on his status "Inna ilahim wo inna elayhi rajioune! "I lost my biological mother late last night. Burial taking place at kudang 2pm. We seek your prayers. A true woman, so caring, loving and considerate to humanity." Saying Ameen to his prayers and knowing Bora and his capability with the pen tells you how shocking is this to him. I know he is going to miss the caring tone of "Mbaba" but please take heart and we continue to pray for her.

WHO IS DOCTOR KEBBA MARENAH?

Mr Kebba Sunjatta Marenah MBBS/BSc(Hons) MRCS(Eng) FRCS(Tr+Orth) PGDip MSK Sci
Dr Kebba S. Marenah is Gambia’s first Orthopaedic surgeon. He studied Medicine at Imperial College London, qualifying in 2006 and proceeded to complete his core surgical training in the East of England deanery. As a Registrar, he specialised in orthopaedics for over 3 years at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and 4 years at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, teaching hospitals and Level 1 Major trauma centres. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England [FRCS (Tr+Orth)] in 2017.
He has a wide range of experience in Orthopaedics especially trauma, but also covers all major sub-specialities including Paediatric orthopaedics, Joint replacement surgery; Hand Surgery and Spinal surgery. After achieving his FRCS (Tr+Orth) he spent a further speciality year training in pelvic and acetabular trauma surgery combined with complex & revision arthroplasty (hip and knee replacement surgery). He is also a holder of a Post-graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal science. In April 2022 he graduated from a Havard Surgical Leadership program
Dr Marenah was appointed as a consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics at the Edward Francis-Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in The Gambia in August 2018. He became the head of department in August 2019 to August 2021 and was a member of the hospital management board during that same period. In may 2022 he was appointed a senior consultant and also became the Vice president of the Medical & Dental Association of the Gambia
Dr Marenah is involved in teaching at the undergraduate level as a Senior lecturer at the School of Medicine and allied health sciences, University of the Gambia (UTG) and also American International University West Africa (AIUWA). He is also involved in the Acreditation, Membership & Fellowship for orthopedics at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital under West Africa College of Surgeon.
In May 2021 he was appointed the Medical Director of Westfield Clinic the Gambia. A foremost Charitable health facility In the Gambia.

In a low key ceremony the administration of Kudang Lower Basic School awards outstanding student of the 2023 academic year.
This is commendable worth support as alluded by a Senior Teacher and the Deputy Head Master of the school Mr Edrisa Sanneh, who called for more hands on desk, that "they will like to collaborate with Alkamba to motivate the young talented kids of our beloved Alkamba by organizing a speech and prize giving by the end of the next academic year"

Siibi Ko

These pictures were taken from the popular Kudang Siibi Ko Kono now known as the Makunyama Forest.

The Kudang "Siibi Ko kono" is the traditional seal between the ever green makunyama and the community of Kudang. Siibi Ko is a fallow land covered with palm trees, straw aka "tongborong", mahogany, baobab and many more.
Siibi Ko kono used to be a hunting ground for the young ones of Kudang. I know most of those reading this will recall the battle line of Saikou-farah _ "Tang-sangto" with the baboons, gito-wolohs, pigs and even sungkang-falohs 😂.
The nicest part of this forest is the "Jaalangho" and the sibikuloh, the rest is history 😂
In addition to all its benefits, Siibi Ko is the resistant windbreaker of Alkamba. While we enjoy a zero cost for palm tree for roofing, our hot weather's is also remedy with the local fan "Tafiyaah" and its fiber is also used during harvest periods as robe.

The Siibi Ko Kono should be restored.

With heavy heart we announce the death of Mariama Fula Ceesay. The wife of Mawdo Sirah Jobarteh. Mariama is the mother to Ebrima Balanka-dinding Jobarteh, Nfansu Jobarteh, Mansata Jobarteh et al. She is a sister to Abdou Fula Ceesay.
We therefore extend our condolences to the entire Jobarteh K***a, Sarah k***a and Kudang at large.
And we pray that Allah grant her and all departed Muslim souls jannah.

May Allah grand you jannah. You will be remembered for your generosity, kindness and pious life.
He pioneer the construction of the Angal Futa Masjid in the early 2000s before leading the transformation of that masjid into a full fledged Mosque.
A strong businessman who starts a corner shop in Almamy K***a in the 80s and transforms himself into a general merchandise to establish himself at the Crossma. His business was a hub for all types of consumables for kudang and Niamina. Cherno Bobo will be missed in kudang and Niamina.

We extend our Our Condolences to Brother Hamidou, Sarjo, Sainey, Amadou, Fatoumata O. Jallow, Ouman Jr, and the two house Pillars Marrliegh, and Ousman Bobo.
