POLICE ARREST THE ALLEGED MURDERER OF ISATOU BAILO BAH

Date: April 17, 2024

The police have arrested Muhammed Susoho in connection with the murder of Isatou Bailo Bah of Sukuta Nema, following a rigorous investigation into her tragic death.

It can be recalled that Isatou Bailo Bah was allegedly murdered in Nema Sukuta on Friday, April 12.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

POLICE ARREST TWO INDIVIDUALS FOR ALLEGED THEFT

Date: April 5, 2024

The Gambia Police Force has arrested two individuals in connection with an alleged theft at the J Financial Services (J. FIN) Sukuta Branch, on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

The incident was reported to Sukuta Police Station by Sally Gaye, a cashier at the branch, calming the disappearance of D170,350.

Preliminary investigations revealed a surprising twist: Sally Gaye, the initial complainant, was found to be complicit in the theft. Evidence uncovered during the investigation indicated that Gaye had colluded with Muhammed Gomez, recruiting him to stage the theft in a manner that would suggest a robbery. This elaborate scheme aimed to divert suspicion away from themselves. However, diligent investigative efforts exposed that the reported stolen amount of D170,350 was, in fact, appropriated by Gaye with Gomez's assistance.

In light of these revelations, the police acted swiftly, arresting Sally Gaye and Muhammed Gomez for their alleged involvement in organising the theft. Both suspects are currently under police custody, cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The police are committed to conducting a comprehensive probe to ensure justice is served.

H.E. President Adama Barrow arrived in Dakar on Monday afternoon, ahead of the inauguration ceremony of President-Elect, H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

Senegalese Prime Minister, H.E. Sidike Kaba received President Barrow at Yoff Airport.

Also, High Commissioner Hadrammeh Sidibeh, staff of the Gambian Embassy, and a delegation of Gambians living in Senegal were also at the Airport to welcome the President.

The Gambia's Foreign Minister, Honourable Mamadou Tangara, was also amongst the dignitaries who received President Barrow.

On Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, President Barrow will be amongst over a dozen Heads of State and Government who will witness the official ceremony at which H.E. Macky Sall will officially hand over the office of the presidency to his successor, H.E. Faye, who will be the 5th President of the Republic of Senegal.

President Barrow’s attendance is a positive sign to further strengthen the existing fraternal and brotherly relationship between The Gambia and Senegal.
