Parliament of Ghana WAS ORDERED BY THE SUPREME COURT TO EXPUNGE THE NAME OF James Gyakye Quayson AS A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT.
This was on the grounds that:
1. James Gyakye Quayson was not qualified at the time of filing his nomination form between 5th to 9th October, 2020 to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections for the Assin North Constituency as a member of Parliament.
For this reason,

The decision of the electoral commission to permit James Gyakye Quayson to contest the parliamentary elections in the Assin North Constituency when he (James Gyakye Quayson) had not shown evidence of the cancellation of his citizenship of Canada is an act that is inconsistent with and violates Article 94(2)(a) of the 1992 constitution of the republic of Ghana.
3. The election of James Gyakye Quayson as member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency was unconstitutional.
4. The swearing in of James Gyakye Quayson as member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency was unconstitutional, null and void and of no legal effect.
