Ing. Alex Kofi Annin, the Newmont Ahafo South Mines manager, elucidated on the company's multifaceted support for the security services. Besides material provisions like fuel and food, Newmont is actively engaged in addressing the accommodation needs of the Ahafo Army. Collaborating with the Regional Coordinating Council, Newmont aims to facilitate the establishment of a permanent residence for the soldiers, enabling them to execute their duties effectively and efficiently.

Brigadier Commander Michael Opoku expressed profound gratitude to Newmont Ghana for the donation of the three pickups, recognizing the critical role they play in ensuring comprehensive security coverage across the Ahafo region. In a heartening display of generosity and community spirit, Ghanaian Gospel musician Akubless, based in the United Kingdom, has undertaken the admirable task of renovating the Goaso Eye Clinic, which had fallen into a deplorable state. Nana Aduse Poku Champions Safe Water Project and Road Infrastructure in Asunafo South

On Friday, May 17, 2024, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asunafo South, Honorable Frank Aduse Poku, made a significant stride towards improving the lives of residents in Aboum, a community within the Asunafo South district. Hon. Frank Aduse Poku, who is also the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), ceremoniously initiated the construction of a $300,000 safe water project, underscoring his commitment to providing essential services to the people he serves.

In his address to the media during the sod-cutting ceremony, Hon. Aduse Poku elucidated the rationale behind prioritizing the provision of safe water to Aboum. He emphasized that when the Asunafo South district was established, it encompassed several key towns, including Kukoum, Nobekwaw, Kwapong, Sankore, and Aboum. Hon. Aduse Poku pledged to himself upon assuming office as the DCE to ensure that all these significant communities have access to clean water, recognizing water as an indispensable aspect of life.
