Hon. Farouk Nkrumah submits nomination form to NPP party office at Goaso.

Farouk Nkrumah is a native of Akrodie in the Asunafo North Constituency. He is a long standing member of the NPP who has sacrificed his life, resources and energy for the betterment of the party. Farouk Nkrumah became very popular in the Asunafo North when he gave the incumbent MP a tough competition during the 2015 and 2020 primaries. When he lost the two different parliamentary primaries to the incumbent MP, he didn't back off from the party and intensified his contribution towards the party.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Farouk Nkrumah made it clear that, " I am of a strong conviction as a believer of God that there is time for everything in whatever we do on this planet. I have contested two times in the Asunafo North parliamentary race and this is the third time and this is the right time for me.

When I assessed my interaction with the delegates, they have given me a meaningful hope and assurance to give me the mandate to lead the party in the 2024 elections. It is very disheartening that the NPP parliamentary votes keep on reducing under the leadership of the incumbent MP therefore, delegates ought to consider who is next to lead and that person is me", Farouk Nkrumah.

Brief background about Farouk Nkrumah.

He is the 2nd Vice Chairman for Nigeria Branch of NPP. In June 2015, he was the elections Campaign Team Co-ordinator for Akrodie Zone (21 polling stations in scattered villages) He was a former treasurer for Tescon koforidua Polytechnic. NPP young Elephants - Manhyia Constituency - Secretary 2005 in the Ashanti Region.

Farouk Nkrumah's significant contribution to the party in Asunafo North. He donated Nissan pick-up to the Asunafo North constituency in the year 2013. Paid for issuance of Membership cards to some loyal party members ( over 1000 cards) Supported the funding of the constituency and the regional campaign for the 2016 general elections.

Financed most of the party activities including transporting of students from the various tertiary institutions to vote on the election day. (2016) Paid transport fares of most of our party supporters who travelled from their various destinations to the constituency to vote on the election day (this is something I do in every election year) Took charge of the house to house campaign and the collation of results and pick sheets from the polling stations within the Akrodie Zone.

Hon. Nana Yaw Boadu submits his nomination form at NPP Office-Goaso.

He was born and bred at one of the largest towns within the Asunafo North Constituency, Mim. Nana Yaw Boadu is a staunch member of the New Patriotic Party in the Asunafo North who has played an enormous role towards the success of the party in the constituency. He is currently working at the Office of the President of Ghana as a Presidential Staffer. He solely financed the hiring and renovation of NPP Party office at Kwadwo Addai Kro mu under Bitire Electoral Area, a suburb of Mim.

Nana Yaw Boadu has being very supportive to party faithfuls in financial assistance, job opportunities and the like. In an exclusive interview with the media, he firmly postulated that the Asunafo North NPP need a change of leadership in the parliamentary slot because there is total facial fatigue of failure. He further stated emphatically that he is the best choice at this crucial moment to rescue and maintain the seat for NPP. He added that, the grassroots are crying and feel so despondent of how the party seat is in limbo therefore, he(*Nana Yaw Boadu*) is poised to win with a landslide victory.

He started his early education at Mim Timber Company (MTC) School in Mim, setting the foundation for his future endeavours. His secondary school years at Obuasi Secondary Technical School were distinguished by leadership, culminating in his appointment as the School's Senior Prefect.

Nana pursued higher education at Kumasi Polytechnic (now Kumasi Technical University), where he did not only earned an HND in Mechanical Engineering but also assumed the role of the local GNUPS president. This dual role showcased his academic acumen and leadership skills.

Nana continued his studies at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST), graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His educational journey was not confined to Ghana, as he enriched his understanding of global perspectives with a degree in International Business & Law from Illinois State University, USA.

He has worked at Obuasi Gold Mines, contributing his skills to the engineering sector. He pursued Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Education, Winneba.

Highlighting more of his vision to the media after successfully submitting his form, he stated that "My decision to contest is borne out of love and passion I have for the Asunafo North Constituency.
Over the years, I have assisted this Constituency in many ways. I have secured Appointment Letters for many constituents into the public sector, including the security services. I have contributed to the infrastructure development of this Constituency. I have made several donations to schools, Hospitals and Churches.

Now, based on numerous calls from the NPP party executives and the Constituents at large, I have listened to their calls for me to serve the Constituency in a different capacity, that is, as their member of parliament. Going into 2024 requires a candidate who is a unifier and loved by the Constituents so that we can restore the over 5,000 votes we lost to the NDC PC in 2020 and also extend it to make Asunafo North MP seat a Safe seat again.

In 2016, Both Nana Addo Danquah (the President) and Evans Opoku Bobie(the MP) gave some 8,000 votes difference to JDM & the NDC PC respectively. However, in the 2020 elections, whiles the President maintained the 8,000 votes difference, Hon Evans Bobie the MP had his vote difference reduced drastically from 8,000 to little over 3000 votes.

In the 2020 elections, the NDC strategically picked their PC from Mim and because of that, whiles PRESIDENT Akuffo Addo had about 10,000 votes in Mim, Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie had about 6000 votes in Mim. This means that more than 4000 NPP voters in Mim voted for PRESIDENT Akuffo Addo and Voted for the NDC PC.

To be able to restore this over 4000 Mim votes to the NPP PC requires Nana Yaw Boadu being the only aspirant among the 6 contestants in this primaries, who hails from Mim. Not just that I hail from Mim which is the NPP stronghold in the Constituency, I am liked by all because of my excellent contributions to the development of Mim and the Asunafo North at large.

My wife also hails from Goaso which is the Constituency capital. So I am the ideal person to make the Asunafo seat a safe seat again.
Hon Evans Bobie has reduced the Asunafo North MP seat from a Safe seat to a marginal so we must Change him to be able to break the 8."- Hon. Nana Yaw Boadu.

Lawyer Jones Afriyie-Anto submits his nomination form to NPP Party Office.

Jones Afriyie-Anto is a native of Fawohoyeden, a conurbation of Asunafo North Constituency. A responsible married man. He has served as an Assemblyman for Fawohoyeden Electoral Area. Three times Presiding Member for Asunafo North Municipal Assembly. Afriyie-Anto is a former Assistant Secretary and 1st Vice Chairman for the New Patriotic Party in the Asunafo North Province.

He is a lawyer by profession. When the NPP opened nomination for Areas where they have sitting 'MP''s', lawyer Afriyie declared his intention and picked nomination form to contest the parliamentary seat. NPP Tano North Constituency Delegates endorsed Hon. Freda Prempeh in the upcoming Primaries.

The Electoral area Coordinators and polling Station executives in the Tano North Constituency, have hailed the achievements of the Member of Parliament, Hon Freda Prempeh, describing it as unprecedented.

They said she has engineered and spearheaded development in the area which has brought comfort to the people. Access to good drinking water, electrification, job opportunities, sanitation facilities , Astroturf are among some of the projects, the NPP legislator is said to have provided to enhance development in the various communities like Tanoso, Duayaw Nkwanta, Techere , Subriso and others.

The executives are therefore calling for the support of party members and delegates to help Hon Freda Prempeh who doubles as the Minister of Sanitation to go for another term.
These NPP faithful spoke to the media when Hon Freda Prempeh filed her nomination forms at the party office at Duayaw Nkwanta.

The National Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party has set 27th January, 2024 for the conduct of the Parliamentary primaries in constituencies. Nomination shall open on 20th December, 2023, and close on 25th December, 2023.
Amidst drumming and dancing, party faithful in the constituency thronged to the street to support their Member of Parliament when she arrived to file for her nomination.

Speaking to the media after the filing, Hon Dr Freda Prempeh said that, her longer stay
in parliament is at the result of her good work in the constituency.“My constituents have come to understand and appreciate my commitment hence their support in every four years is so enormous. I will never let you down in terms of development.“ Hon. Freda Prempeh stressed.

Tyrone Iras Marhguy, a Rastafarian student, who, in 2021, was initially denied admission by the Achimota School for wearing his dreadlocks and not heeding the school’s order that he cut the dreadlocks, has come out with flying colours in the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Master Marhguy scored an A1, the highest grade possible, in all of the eight subjects he studied as a General Science student at the school.

Achimota School had rejected him, but a court in May 2021 ordered the school to admit him after much hearing on the matter.

While Marhguy has been receiving much praise from Ghanaians on social media, Achimota is at the receiving end of criticism, even after about three years since the incident happened.
