I find it very intriguing to hear Chinese people seeing me for the first time and saying “hey your black”. Initially I found that as racist. But after a while I realized it’s a share lack of exposure and mostly ignorance.

Most of them have never seen an African or a black person before (even Europeans) and are really excited when they do. They would mostly want to take your WeChat (Chinese version of WhatsApp) and want to have you as a friend by all means.

They wanna sponsor your meals, invite you to parties, games, try to speak English with you and most especially take lots of pictures with you. Btw it gets awkward sometimes but it’s one of the things you’ll have to adjust to if you visit China.

You’d also have to learn how to eat rice every single time since that they’re main food or noodles. Lots of culture shocks that I’m still learning. Most importantly you’ll have to work your ass off at work. That’s only if you get a job (never easy tho cos of the language barrier)

Payment systems are very easy as they use WeChat and Alipay for transaction with no hidden cost (everyone has that btw). With a population over 1 billion people and a vast land mass most transportation is by flight and speed train. China also has one of the longest subway system in the world. They could construct bridges and buildings in few days if not hours.
