A “mouse” was put at the top of a jar filled with grains.
He was so happy to find so much food around him that no longer he felt the need to run around searching for food and now he could happily live his life.
After a few days of enjoying the grains, he reached the bottom of the jar.
Now he was trapped and he couldn't get out of it.
He now has to solely depend upon someone to put grains in the same jar for him to survive.
He also may not get the grain of his choice and he cannot choose either.
Here are a few lessons to learn from this:
1) Short term pleasures can lead to long-term traps (living on benefits/furlough/spoilt by parents perhaps?).
2) If things are coming easy and you are getting comfortable, you are getting trapped into dependency.
3) When you are not using your skills, you will lose more than your skills. You lose your CHOICES and FREEDOM.
4) Freedom does not come easy but can be lost very quickly.
NOTHING comes easily in life and if it comes easily, maybe it is not worth it..

SOME SOCIAL RULES THAT MAY HELP YOU:

1. Don’t call someone more than twice continuously. If they don’t pick up your call, presume they have something important to attend to;

2. Return money that you have borrowed even before the person that borrowed you remember or ask for it. It shows your integrity and character. Same goes with umbrellas, pens and lunch boxes.

3. Never order the expensive dish on the menu when someone is giving you a lunch/dinner.

4. Don’t ask awkward questions like ‘Oh so you aren’t married yet?’ Or ‘Don’t you have kids’ or ‘Why didn’t you buy a house?’ Or why don't you buy a car? For God’s sake it isn’t your problem;

5. Always open the door for the person coming behind you. It doesn’t matter if it is a guy or a girl, senior or junior. You don’t grow small by treating someone well in public;

6. If you take a taxi with a friend and he/she pays now, try paying next time;

7. Respect different shades of opinions. Remember what's 6 to you will appear 9 to someone facing you. Besides, second opinion is good for an alternative;

8. Never interrupt people talking. Allow them to pour it out. As they say, hear them all and filter them all;

9. If you tease someone, and they don’t seem to enjoy it, stop it and never do it again. It encourages one to do more and it shows how appreciative you're;

10. Say “thank you” when someone is helping you.

11. Praise publicly. Criticize privately;

12. There’s almost never a reason to comment on someone’s weight. Just say, “You look fantastic.” If they want to talk about losing weight, they will;

13. When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe left or right. You never know what’s next;

14. If a colleague tells you they have a doctors' appointment, don’t ask what it’s for, just say "I hope you’re okay". Don’t put them in the uncomfortable position of having to tell you their personal illness. If they want you to know, they'll do so without your inquisitiveness;

15. Treat the cleaner with the same respect as the CEO. Nobody is impressed at how rude you can treat someone below you but people will notice if you treat them with respect;

16. If a person is speaking directly to you, staring at your phone is rude;

17. Never give advice until you’re asked;

18. When meeting someone after a long time, unless they want to talk about it, don’t ask them their age and salary;

19. Mind your business unless anything involves you directly - just stay out of it;

20. Remove your sunglasses if you are talking to anyone in the street. It is a sign of respect. Moreso, eye contact is as important as your speech; and

21. Never talk about your riches in the midst of the poor. Similarly, don't talk about your children in the midst of the barren.

22.After reading a good message try to say "Thanks for the message".

APPRECIATION remains the easiest way of getting what you don't have....

Notorious Prepaid Meter Thief Arrested

A notorious suspected prepaid meter thief one Mohammed Sualisu has been arrested in Tamale in the Northern Region.

Mohammed Sualisu is said to have been a wanted person by the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) since last year for allegedly stealing power meters of customers in the region.

Mohammed Sualisu is alleged to have stolen several prepaid meters from their customer’s homes.

Some NEDCo customers in the region reported to the office that their prepaid meters have been stolen under strange circumstances which prompted NEDCo to flag those meters in their system.

One Mohammed Osman, a NEDCo customer went to buy power and the system detected that the meter was flagged and he was arrested.

Mohammed Osman then led NEDCo officials to Mohammed Sualisu as the person who sold the prepaid meter to him and he was subsequently arrested.

Mohammed Sualisu was arrested with two stolen prepaid meters in his custody.

They have arraigned before the Tamale District Magistrate court presided by His Worship Amadu Issifu and remanded into police custody.

They have been charged with stealing and will reappear in court on September 10, 2021.

The Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) Public Relations Officer, Alhassan Ababa, said the illegal connection has remained the bane of NEDCo’s success and the creeping canker of meter theft.

“This menace if not checked will lead to the collapse of the company. We are therefore appealing to the general public to help NEDCo combat all antisocial activities from our various communities to guarantee the survival of the sole electricity distributor in Northern Ghana.”

MTTD Traffic Monitoring and Surveillance Centre Impounds 31 Vehicles for Various Traffic Offences on the East Legon (Underbridge) Road

The Motor Transport and Traffic Department’s Monitoring and Surveillance Centre has impounded 31 vehicles for various traffic offences on the East Legon (Underbridge) road during a special exercise conducted in partnership with Citi FM/TV on Wednesday, 25 August 2021 at about 6:30am.

The exercise forms part of the Police Administration’s resolve to clamp down on reckless and careless driving, the blatant disregard for road traffic regulations and to reduce deaths on our roads.

During the exercise, 31 drivers whose vehicles were impounded were charged for flouting several road traffic regulations including disregard for road markings, dangerous driving, driving on the shoulders of the road, unauthorized use of sirens and beacon lights, among others and are being processed for court in Adenta while their vehicles are impounded at the East Legon Police station.

Some of the arrested drivers were public officials, security personnel and drivers of some corporate entities.

The Traffic Monitoring and Surveillance Centre is a flagship programme set up by the Police Administration and manned by specially trained agents of the MTTD. The centre conducts traffic monitoring and surveillance throughout the country with the help of special cameras which are installed at the various intersections, vital installations and highways across the country.

The agents who seat behind the consoles lookout for road traffic offences and take note of particulars of the vehicles for processing.

The motoring public is advised to abide by road traffic regulations at all times to promote road safety. - Ghana Police Service

For days she undressed and stared in the mirror for a few minutes, I pretended that I did not see her, but I noticed that she looked worried, she tightened her belly, raised her breasts, raised her butt, as if everything were out of place.

One day I took the mirror out of the room and hid it. She came home from work, undressed, turned to the wall and freaked out!

-Where is the mirror?

I said -I took it out

She asked -Why did you take it out ...

Because it does not reflect what I see!
I see a beautiful woman, who works hard to achieve everything that has been proposed, who studies, who is the mother of my children and still has time to go out with me.
I know that when you look in the mirror you don't see any of that

She filled her eyes with water, hugged me excitedly and said:
What would I be without you?
I don't know what I would do without you my love 😍

Sometimes all it takes is a word of love, letting that person know that you love all their imperfections and that what they feel for each other goes beyond what the mirror can reflect.
