UK's Labour pitches for power with 'wealth creation' pledge Read more:

Britain's Labour party launched a "manifesto for wealth creation" Thursday, pledging to get the economy firing again if it wins power in next month's election after 14 years in opposition.Labour has consistently led Rishi Sunak's Conservatives by around 20 points for nearly two years, suggesting its leader Keir Starmer will become the next prime minister. "Wealth creation is our number one priority, economic growth is our core business," said Starmer, 61, unveiling his centre-left party's blueprint for government before the July 4 vote.The manifesto launch came two days after the Tories promised voters more tax cuts, in a campaign where the affordability of the main parties' spending plans have come under close scrutiny.Despite Labour's hefty poll lead, Starmer is fighting to overcome persistent Tory claims that his party will recklessly spend public finances and increase personal taxes. Starmer has ruled out increasing the VAT sales tax, income tax rates and National Insurance -- which pays for state healthcare, pensions and unemployment. He says Labour will instead focus on spurring economic growth if it wins. NIA Staff Call Off Strike, Demand Government To Act In Good Faith Read more:

The National Identification Authority’s (NIA) staff has called off their strike. The NIA staff declared an indefinite strike on Monday, June 10, 2024, citing the failure of the government to address their poor service conditions appropriately. Read more:
A press release stated that following a meeting on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, it had decided to call off its strike. The NIA staff met with the National Security Minister, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), and the National Labour Commission, who encouraged them to return to work while their grievances were addressed. The staff also noted that the public outcry from Ghanaians affected by the strike influenced their decision to return. Government gives NIA staff assurances The staff said the FWSC, which they had earlier accused of entering into the service conditions with bad faith, has promised to act in good faith in subsequent engagements. The NIA staff, however, warned that mere promises will not sway them. They have notified that if the government refuses to show the good faith it promised them during the next engagement scheduled for Friday, June 14, 2024, it will not hesitate to strike again.This followed a unanimous decision at a council meeting on May 23, 2024. Initially scheduled for March 24, 2024, the strike was deferred following an intervention by the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations. However, on June 9, 2024, the workers issued a statement stating that the government's assurance to implement better conditions of service for NIA staff had not come to fruition. The NIA staff say the government acted in bad faith throughout the negotiation process, hence the declaration of an indefinite strike.The staff stated that their strike action was to drum up support for the government's improvement of their poor and demeaning conditions of service. Eleven people, including two minors, have drowned after their boat capsized in the Oti River on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Six people have been rescued, and five others have not been found. Emmanuel Atali, the Assembly member of Dambai Lakeside, said that as soon as the community heard about the capsized boat, Navy officials and local boat operators began a massive rescue operation. This led to the rescue of four women and a baby girl. They were rushed to the Dambai Health Centre for intensive care as the search continued for other members of the boat. The boat's occupants had set off from Dambai, the Oti regional capital, to buy and sell on the Dambai market day. They were heading towards Njari, a farming and fishing community in the Krachi East Municipality when the unfortunate happened. Chairman of the Boat Operators in the area, Clement Kwasi Checki, expressed grief about the event and condoled with the families and friends of those who had drowned. The Navy and boat operators in the area are still searching for the other missing passengersAlso, two school children from Kasoa have died after drowning at Gomoa Nyanyano, while one other remains missing. Fifteen children had gone swimming, and 12 were rescued after a distress call.The bodies of two children, estimated to be between the ages of 10 and 15, were eventually recovered. My first time meeting shatta wale was in the studio, my team called shatta wale and wanted him to work with me and to my suprise shatta wale laughed out louder on the phone and asked me what the tittle of the song is __king promise

Before then I have already penned down some lyrics so I told him it's gonna be alright and that's where we came with a song alright.

Shatta wale drove to the studio we met and recorded the song in the space of 20 mins, I wasn't suprise because I know shatta can be talented who got plenty songs without even writing them.

I used to ask myself which planet shatta is from because man is just different, the 19 years old king promise he'll always choose shatta wale over everyone in africa when it comes to pure lyrics.
