Since the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, ordered the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to sign a revenue assurance contract with SML, the GRA has been SML's only customer since its establishment in 2017.
SML had no experience in revenue assurance when the contract was signed.

SML admitted that the services it listed on its website as curtailing irregularities did not exist. The company’s MD also said he did not know how the company saved the GHS3 billion the media to publish in 2023.
Why then are they paid GHS 20 million every month?
Although SML Ghana is paid for 'revenue assurance ' services, its MD said he did not know how it saved the nation GHS 3 billion which was widely circulated in the media.
