Trying to get my head around v carving onto a curved surface in aspire and absolutely love the 3D tools which make things a lot easier!

I’ve heard v12 is even better still! 🤔

Also kolrosing makes any simple v carve stand out nice - must remember that for future carves!

Oops forgot to mention that I’ll be coming to this year for the first time ever as a visitor! 😁

If you see me wandering around with my fam please feel free to stop me for a chat and a sticker swap.

And for those extra special makers I might even have a 3D printed model of my heart for you…

Big thanks to the awesome for surprising my daughter with a copy of her new book! 🥰
She’s already engrossed in it and think I might try and borrow it when she’s asleep. Being as quirky as I am, her favourite thing so far is the very tactile and squeaky front cover and lovely illustrations by 😂

Oops total error on my part, green oak and a 1/4” blade binding up. I’ll get a new one from tuffsaws and maybe some new underpants 😂
Wonder what to do with the old blade, somebody suggested making a Shinto rasp but that would involve some welding wouldn’t it?

After an amazing weekend at I spent a crazy fun day with this bunch feeling totally out of place and the odd one out with my little YT channel.

Then after getting to know them all, perhaps bonding over near death experiences at workshop I realised we are all the odd ones and they are just simply amazingly nice people 🥰

Thanks again to Colin and your misses for hosting, the workshop and tunnel tour as well as playing with the cool toys and thanks to everyone for making feel like part of the fam especially for bringing me 😎

Has been an absolute pleasure to see lots of friends old and new at this weekend! 🥰 apologies if I didn’t get a chance to see anybody!

Also massive thanks to the team for having me on their stand and all the love they give out to the maker community. It’s been fun chatting to people there all weekend about CNCs and playing with the machine. (Though it did feel like cheating on my lovely workbee but you know, different postcode….)

I can honestly say that after using Starbond, Gorilla, Loctite, Chestnut, Zap-a-gap, Everbuild and now O3 I’ve become a bit of a glue connoisseur over the years (hmm that sounds a bit wrong!) using CA glue as both an adhesive and as a finish.

Some of you might even remember me at makers central doing a 30 minute talk on glue with which I'm pretty sure was enthralling ;)

A little while back sent me some of their CA glue to do some no obligation testing and if I liked it, just show it in my videos and I'm happy to report my findings so far.

As an adhesive and as a finish, its like most other CAs it sticks things to other things and they all seem to be the same (other than zap a gap to be fair which is a tiny bit flexible and expands a little making it a useful adhesive and useless finish) so really it’s the applicator, drying time and cost that influence what I buy and recommend.

Gorilla sell a CA glue with a really nice fine nozzle which is brilliant for tiny stuff but does get gunked up quickly and if you need it, other glues like starbond and O3 have fine tips that can be fitted to their bottles.

For general day-to-day glueing I can 100% recommend O3 products due to their cost and the nozzle design. Just like the chestnut CA which is also pretty good, it has a screw lid that doesn't seem to get all gunked up or leak like some of the other brands I've tried and therefore should last a lot longer. It's also slightly cheaper than the chestnut CA with the discount codes, in fact they currently have an offer for some free glue with each purchase so worth checking out!

Note that I am not an affiliate of any kind for O3, I've just been most impressed by them. Wood glue and specials I will always recommend or for outdoorsy stuff.

There's plenty of YouTube videos out there on glue and it's not the most interesting of topics but please let me know if you want me to tackle it as a separate video and I'll add it to the list and I'm always happy to answer questions 😊

If Luke ran into this little fellow on degobah he’d have shot it with his blaster.

However, thanks to the awesome .jake.fee and some carving training today I’m a little bit safer and got a few great tips on how to improve my carving game.

Thanks Jake!

Bosch sent me this fantastic little saw and I did a video on it. Go watch.

I’ve had this thing for some time and finally have a review video on my YouTube channel for it!

While it is small it’s big enough for what I need and of course uses the worx batteries which I already have a ton of 😁

Spoiler alert - I love it!

Anyways if you have any interest in a small cordless mitre saw go check it out :)

I’ve got a 2000 subscriber giveaway coming up soon but this is something different…. I’m looking for a new owner for this Taz 3 3D printer! (free)

This is my little way of paying it forward to the maker community as the machine was originally and kindly gifted to me by the awesome James Bruton of

It’s old but it’s a workhorse of a machine having done 100s of hours of printing for James and many more by myself.

Ideally the new owner should be somebody in the maker community who’s mechanically minded, preferably somebody without a 3D printer or somebody who fancies a project. Maybe a makerspace or “mens shed” perhaps?

I welcome suggestions!

It has a few idiosyncrasies and faults that need fixing but it is very functional and very reliable and I’d be happy to help you get set up and printing.

Sorry to say due to shipping costs this is for people in the UK only.
