Having a blast at the Firevolt MCR rock festival Firevolt Rock Festival Community.
Scotty Boy's World of Rock 6-8pm Thursday’s on Radio Saltire promoted the very best of the current crop of rock artists, while celebrating classic rock throughout the decades.
There has been some fantastic new rock acts performing this weekend. Huge credit to organisers Bev & Stret for putting together such a great lineup 👏
I would like to give a big shoutout to the established artists performing this weekend at Firevolt:
Darren Wharton's Renegade played a brilliant Thin Lizzy Official set on Friday
Adrian Vandenberg showcased his solo material and classic WHITESNAKE
Last night’s headliners was Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons who delivered a powerful
Motorhead set. See attached clip of ‘Overkill’ 🤘🔥

Thanks to Joe Bonamassa for Keeping the Blues Alive.

We Scots don’t do hot sunny conditions …. without copious amounts of beer 🍻
From Atlanta, Georgia, this is Eddie 9V playing at Keeping the Blues Alive
He just so happened to be on our day-trip to Santorini with his bride to-be, ready for their impending nuptials! Congrats!
There were some great American artists playing Keeping the Blues Alive Here is Blackberry Smoke I love Charlie Starr’s songwriting, singing and guitar playing.
A BIG shout out for Chris Buck. We watched all 3 Cardinal Black shows on Keeping the Blues Alive.
Here is some footage of his brilliant atmospheric guitar work during their final show. Voted the best Young Guitarist of 2019. I think he has such a unique sound which accompanies the songs with beautiful melody. I love the way he uses reverb, delay and alternates by plucking the guitar strings with his fingers and then switches to using the plectrum to capture the mood of the song.
It was great chatting to Chris about his effects board. It has to be the biggest set of pedals etc I’ve seen a guitarist using. It has a top set, he has a flip top that opens up to reveal an inside set. He told me it “weighs a tonne” 😂
You will see Chris rarely looks at his fretboard, instead he shuts his eyes and ‘feels’ his way through his solos. Shortly after this footage, he broke the top E string. I watch on in admiration as he caried on unfazed. As singer Tom said in response “Imagine what he could do if he had more frets” 🤣
