When Marple met Poirot: Torquay Station, 1990.

A century after the birth of crimewriter Agatha Christie (née Miller) in Torquay, two of her most famous creations came together as part of the first International Agatha Christie Festival. Jane Marple was played by Joan Hickson and Hercule Poirot by David Suchet.

Also featured is a fabulous Pullman train that covered the British leg of the Orient Express. During that first festival, the surviving places that Agatha knew from her early in life in Torquay took pride of place. Places like the Imperial Hotel, Princess Pier and Torquay Pavilion.
