For the last #WordlyWise post in the series, this week we're shining the light on another common word spoken differently across the country: envelope. How do you say it? ON-velope? Or EN-velope?
Looking back at some work I did earlier in the year for the European Commission on their ESCO portal, supporting individuals getting jobs around Europe. Always great to find new clients, and feel like the work that you're doing is also doing good.
Practice makes perfect, they say. You've got to nurture a skill, they say. So, doing a bit of vocal exercises with this little beauty this morning and warming up my mouth. Warming up my head too as it took a couple of takes! 😀
Often...how do you say it? Pronounce the 't', or keep it silent? #WordlyWise
How do you say February? #WordlyWise
There are some words, that when you're in the booth recording away just make you think that little bit harder! I think we're all guilty of having to think about the right way to say Anemone, aren't we?
One of the things I enjoy the most about being a Voiceover Artist, is the variety in my work. No two days are the same, no job too similar. It definitely keeps me on my toes! Today, in celebration of #Entrepreneurday, here's a short clip from a video I did for the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
This week's #WordoftheWeek is 'penguin'. A simple word for most to say, right? This clip goes to show that even the most seasoned actors sometimes struggle with every day words. Pengwings Benedict? http://ow.ly/rrXU30gA0Ia
Warming up my voice and tongue with some tongue twister fun.
There is something so satisfying in watching the final product that you've provided the voiceover for. What's more, the ESCO portal, for which this explainer video was commissioned, helps people find jobs across Europe and in doing so, supports the reduction of unemployment. That's got to be a good thing, right?
I know you all know how to say 'comfortable' but did you know that how people say it has changed over the years from pronouncing it with 4 syllables (com-for-ta-ble) to pronouncing it with 3 syllables (comf-ta-ble)?
Specific - one of those tricky little words to say, and say correctly. #WordoftheWeek
Leukaemia Care - Fatigue
Leukaemia Care is a wonderful charity supporting all those affected by blood cancer. I was lucky enough to work on this #explainer video with them recently, highlighting the effects of fatigue on the body.
How do you say 'controversy'? #WordoftheWeek #Voiceover
