A new digital studio offering people the chance to try out state of the art technologies is to open in Spalding town centre.
Learning Curve is a collaboration between Chain Bridge Forge Museum’s innovation centre and Ark ICT Solutions and will offer a range of digital experiences including virtual reality.
The new studio will be based at Boston College Spalding Campus in Red Lion Street, Spalding, accessible via Crackpool Lane, off Broad Street.
The project is being supported by Boston College.
Professional artists and teachers are on board to deliver a range of experiences through school activities, out of school clubs, holiday clubs, birthday events and commissions.
Learning Curve will officially open during the schools’ half term holiday with sessions on February 18, 19 and 20.

Today we took our innovation area (3d printer, 3d scanner, 3d pens, 360 camera and Virtual Reality system) to a local junior school to give them a real taste of technology. We didn't just talk about these systems but instead let them get hands on and try them out. A great thank you to our volunteers and the school for being a big help in making this day fun and educational.

Here is a z scale model of the chain bridge forge building. The white version printed before our upgrade with a 0.4mm nozzle and the grey version printed after upgrade with a new 0.25mm nozzle. Let us know what you think of this upgrade and other items we can print.

We have upgraded our 3d printer from an Ultimaker2 to an Ultimaker2+. The new level of fine detail and quality is astonishing. Photos to follow.

Just created a new page for our new arts Council project called Pump, Grind and Smith with the objective of creating an art installation for Moulton Mill, Pinchbeck Pumping Museum and the Forge. We hope to chronicle the whole project.
