Emma Anderson has collaborated with Julia Holter on her new single, ‘Taste The Air’, which is out now on all digital platforms.
The third rearrangement of a track from Emma’s debut solo album ‘Pearlies’ is an enchanting chamber-pop interpretation by the celebrated LA-based composer, which takes the atmospheric original and turns it into an amazingly avant-garde cross between Linda Perhacs, Broadcast and Steve Reich.
Here’s a clip from the stunning visualiser by Studio Sparks.

deary have released ‘The Moth’ – their first brand new material since last year’s eponymous debut EP.
Produced by the band with Iggy B (Spiritualized), recorded at the 44ADstudio in London and the BBella Unionstudio in Brighton and mastered by Simon Scott from SSlowdive(band) the song finds the band going through an appropriately titled metamorphosis.
‘The Moth’ is dark and direct with howling guitars atop a strident breakbeat – more Curve than Cocteau Twins.
“We focused a lot on the rhythm and syncopation,” says the band’s Ben Easton. “There are counter melodies and off beat percussion. It’s very dense and immediate, with little room to breathe which adds to the claustrophobia in the subject matter.”
“I wanted to write about being drawn to things which are not good for us,” clarifies singer Dottie about the song’s lyrics. “However, that fleeting feeling of immortality is too tempting to fly away from.”
Here’s a snippet of the video, directed by LLiam Beazley Filmaka Limb.
“We decided to create a short film about someone breaking free from a mystical woodland cult,” say the band of the slightly creepy clip.
“The result is incredible thanks to Liam and some friends and family who didn’t mind sacrificing their Sunday cavorting in the woods.”
‘The Moth’ is out now on all digital platforms and check back at midday for news on a physical release. In the meantime, listen to it and watch the full video here: https://linktr.ee/dearyband
Here’s our latest T-shirt design, which is based on the old A&M records ad (“Listen To Your World”) that used to be printed on vinyl inner sleeves. (Yes, shoegaze is written as two words!)
It’s available to pre-order from now until the end of the month as a white print on black shirt or a black print on white shirt.

deary revisit last year’s acclaimed debut EP for one last time with two brand new remixes.
Fellow dark-hued dreampop duo White Flowers reframe ‘Beauty In All Blue Satin’ as a gothic lament, the strident original slowed down while the drama and the atmosphere are dialled up.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Chandler of the legendary New York post-rock trip-hop duo Bowery Electric turns in a bare bones version of ‘Sleepsong’ which sounds like a sort of drowsy dubstep.
“We have always looked at Lawrence’s work with Bowery Electric as a source of inspiration for our music and we’re honoured that he wanted to tackle ‘Sleepsong’. It’s a minimal and beautiful rework,” says Ben Easton, one half of deary.
“White Flowers have long since been one of our favourites. They make such incredible music and have discovered an even darker side to ‘Beauty In All Blue Satin’, which we absolutely love!

deary revisit last year’s acclaimed debut EP with a showstopping live recording of one of its standout tracks, the melancholy and Mazzy Star-ish ‘Want You’.
Described by singer Dottie as “a love song, simple as that”, this version was recorded at the duo’s sold-out show at London’s iconic St Pancras Old Church Music last November; in front of a rapt audience, the song really comes alive and is more affecting and intimate than its studio counterpart.
It’s out now on all digital platforms.

The debut Whitelands album ‘Night-bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day’ is available to pre-order on Nighttime Blue and Daytime Yellow vinyl variants; the remaining Golden Eye copies will be available from the merch table on their dates with Slowdive(band) next month.
This animation shows just how clever Stuart Jones’ artwork really is – not only do the bellybands cover the band members’ eyes like a blindfold on the outer sleeve, but the centre label makes a zoetrope effect with bassist Vanessa’s eye as it spins. Genius!

Here’s a clip of the new video for ‘Pieces Of Roslin’, a track from the debut Three Quarter Skies EP ‘Universal Flames’, which is out on tape and all digital platforms later this week.
“‘Pieces Of Roslin’ is a dark pop song created from a feedback loop that lent itself to being a gnarly backdrop to a lazy rhythm,” says mainman (and Slowdive(band) drummer) Simon Scott of the track which is reminiscent of Flying Saucer Attack crossed with Lazy Records-era MBV.
“The vocal melody came to me from improvising lyrics about a narcissistic lover who ruins their own life by discarding partners only to selfishly try to hoover them back up by love bombing, but ultimately failing…”
