The artist spotlight for November goes to Jemimah Paine: a worship leader, songwriter and artist originally from Guernsey, and now based in London 🏢
⁣
Jemimah has been releasing music since 2020 and since then has toured around the UK sharing the narrative behind her EP 'Head and Heart', won the ‘Best Pop Artist 2022’ at the TMMP awards, and been nominated for StepFWD awards 2023. Jemimah Paine sings about topics people can relate to and cares deeply for people and the world. This has led to her recently becoming an ambassador at the renowned charity Compassion.

Having worked with the likes of writer Joe Baxter and writer and producer Fez, Jemimah’s music seeks to serve as a bridge for those seeking a heart connection with God beyond mere intellectual knowledge. Her versatile sound spans from Christian pop to neo-soul which she seeks to engage with people on a personal level.

🌟🌟 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Tracey Ross Artist 🌟🌟⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The artist spotlight for October (Still playing catch-up sorry!) goes to Tracey Ross: a painter and creative based in Norfolk! 🎨
⁣
Tracey Ross studied textile design and then completed a Visual Studies degree at Norwich University of the Arts. As a member of the Norwich 20 Group she regularly participates in the annual North Norfolk Studios and Norfolk Open Studios. Tracey was shortlisted for the National Open Art Competition, was a finalist for the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA), the Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) at the Mall Galleries and the Sir John Hurt Holt Art Prize 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. Her work is held in private collections both in the UK and abroad.

A huge thank you to all who applied for our roles in Luke Meyer's comedy radio drama "The Innkeeper" last month. We had nearly 100 applicants and it took us a few days to get through them all! 🎙⁣
⁣
We're excited to announce that providing the voice for Mabel, our Innkeeper's Wife, ⁣
is Emma Vane and for Rodger, our Innkeeper, allow us to introduce Steve Newman!⁣

We are thoroughly looking forward to working with them both on the recordings this month, and thank you everyone who applied, we hope to bring more castings to you in the near future. ❤⁣

The artist spotlight for September (Apologies for the delay!) goes to Matt Levett: a singer-songwriter/musician/producer hailing from the South West and currently based in East Devon. 🍂⁣
⁣
His unique blend of alt-folk melodies, spoken word passages and rap flows share stories of hope and faith, Matt also spends his time supporting young creatives in expressing themselves through songwriting and wider creative arts in a culture where mental health affects so many. 💭⁣

Having recently made his debut on the Creationfest outdoor stage, Matt is currently preparing for his upcoming album ‘A Flare, Not a Firelight’ – an exploration into the depths of doubt, a reflection on disappointment, a grappling with inherited faith through teenage years, and the seeking of true surrender, in search of true freedom. ⁣

CASTING CALL:

Seeking two Voice Actors for Radio drama.

Dates/Times: Flexible, 2 hours, TBC around the last week of October.

Location: Southend OR remote (for those with a home studio).

Paid Positions

We are casting for two voice actors in our upcoming comedic Christmas audio drama: ‘The Innkeeper’. Open to all accents, but a Northern english accent is preferable.
Roles available:

Rodger (Male, Playing age 30-65):

Rodger is a proud obnoxious innkeeper, and considers himself to be part of the social elite, despite not being so.

Mabel (Female, Playing age 30-65):

Mabel is Rodger’s wife. Weary of her husbands self importance, she often finds herself clearing up the mess he has made, and needing to put him in his place.

We are starting our first commissioned project!

Partnering with Christian writer Luke Meyers, and thanks to the backing of our regular supporters we've been able to offer our services free of charge to enable his fantastic telling of the Christmas story to reach the airwaves this winter.

Over the next two weeks he is fundraising to be able to pay the actors a fair wage. For our Christian creatives out there, that casting will be going out around the first week of October so keep your eyes peeled.

This months artist spotlight goes to Sharron Page: a local creative, passionate about appreciating the everyday beauty in God’s creation. 🌍⁣
⁣

Involved in many artistic disciplines, Sharron is probably best known by her photography which is often used by Southend and Shoeburyness’ local newspapers! Her friends and attendees at church will also know Sharon for her popular bible verse pebbles, where as the name suggests she will intricately paint bible verses along with decorations upon choice rocks that she then gives out to those who need them as well as her scripture pictures, where bible verses are overlaid on top her photography work. 📸⁣

I hope Sharron’s journey serves as an encouragement for us all, that our creative journey’s can grow from humble beginnings if we let them and to give thanks for the natural wonders we have around us. ❤️⁣

🌟🌟 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Jess Debenham 🌟🌟⁣

This month we’re shining a light on the work of Brighton based singer/songwriter Jess Debenham, whose latest music video for her single ‘Infrastructure’ has just dropped! 🎥⁣
⁣
⁣
🎵 Jess has been serving on worship and songwriting teams at her home church, Emmanuel, since 2016. Last year Jess released her debut single ‘Come to Me’ based on Matt 11 v28. This was played multiple times on Premier Praise, featured on Louder Than The Music, was voted fourth in A Step Forward’s Contemporary Worship May 2022 Music Chart, and its music video was released June 10th. She then released a further two singles, ‘Infrastructure’, ‘Great I AM’ and ‘Behold Him’ that have featured on multiple playlists. 🎧⁣

🎤 Combining her love of worship music with a poppy contemporary feel, Jess’ love for music and God is evident in all her tracks. From the sensitive reflection of her single ‘Behold Him’ to the freedom filled head bop that is ‘Infrastructure’ Jess is certainly one to watch out for, and with her upcoming album coming the beginning of next year she deserves all the support she can get! ❤⁣
