What does Pride feel like for you?
As part of a new project with Right Up Our Street and Andro and Eve Artist Lady asked Doncaster based LGBTQIA+ people what Pride feels like to them 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
People said: Pride is a protest. Pride is a party. Pride is action. Pride is work. Pride is amazing, wonderful, galvanising, and exciting. It is also overwhelming, draining, complicated and tiring. At Pride being visible is half, if not more, of the work.
Lady Kitt has been working with LGBTQ+ people based in Doncaster to feed into an installation they are making to be displayed at Doncaster Pride on 10 August. So that this installation reflects what local people would like, artist Lady Kitt would like to know -
👉 What does Pride feel like for you?
👉 What spaces, colours, sounds, textures, and atmospheres do we need to create places of pause, rest and reflection within Pride?
👉 What activities do you find restful and restorative?
Our Chair, Tom attended a Pride celebration and marketplace at High Storrs school today 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
"It was so great to see such a fun, colourful and celebratory event in a school setting" says Tom.
"We were in great company with the likes of SAYiT, Hallam LGBT+ Staff Network, Juno Books and others".
Thanks to the organisers at High Storrs for having us!
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
