Belladrum Festival Hootananny Moose Hollow is our festival within a Festival.
Medicine Music in conjunction with Hootananny of Inverness presents “The Moose Hollow Arena” for Belladrum Festival since 2022, collated by honcho and Belladrum veteran Rob Ellen.
Rob says Moose Hollow brings the old Potting Shed stage to The Trailer Trash stage the good news is, we will again be programming both stages in 2025 to run in tandem & to complement each other (as is our tradition). To that end we present this playlist from the Potting Shed Stage.
The Trailer Trash/Saloon Stage will as ever be the place for Country Music & The Potting Shed Stage/ Moose Stage as ever for exploring the roots and shoots of acoustic Americana.
Next year both stages will be dedicated to the memory of Tom Mason the Blue Buccaneer, friend of Medicine Show Radio and my many times traveling companion in The Moose.

Named in homage to the great Tim Henderson, (Townes Van Zandt favourite songwriter) The Gringo Pistoleros continues in the tradition of Texas country music. The album, appropriately titled, "The Rise and Subsequent Fall of the Texas Alien" is a true collaboration of three generations of artists with a true passion for country music.
The Gringo Pistoleros is a band born from the ashes of the pandemic. Ameripolitan nominated Cory Grinder and the Playboy Scouts did their best to stay on the road bringing their brand of honky tonk, traditional country and Texas swing to an eager America. While passing through Austin, the boys were able to spend a few days in the studio with Lazarus Nichols and his crew.
A few days later, a record was recorded and a band was born.
Laz wrote 'One Step Further' standing outside of a Mike Blakely concert at the legendary listening room, The Bugle Boy in La Grange, TX. Laz and his beautiful wife Hannah may have been drinking with Chuck Hawthorne in the parking lot after the show when Laz may, or may not, have nearly fallen down the holler on the back half of the property taking a piss. Chuck Hawthorne growls, “One step further would have been one step too many Laz!” And a song is born… – G. Pistoleros
The release of ‘Rock n Roll Heart’ under the stage name of 'Poor Lazarus' saw him chart on the Euro Americana Chart and be invited to Belladrum Festival Scotland to introduce the band last August internationally, an invitation to perform at the Tim Henderson Memorial Concert saw him confirmed as a Texas songster in front of his peers

Phil is the only man ever to front both Crazy Horse and The Flying Burrito Brothers - he never did front The Briar Hoppers but he did get his start in Show business playing drums on the iconic Homer Briarhopper Drye and his Briar Hoppers Country Breakfast Show (just ask anyone who grew up in North Carolina in the 60's about that show)

I’m really keen on this being extra-special this year - It is always special – however this is our 15th year of The Potting Shed Stage and my 20th year of Belladrum’s, I was in with the bricks with this Fest so it’s already a very special year for a very special event for this pilgrim, there is a P ‘n’ J piece pinned to the wall which tells the story pretty well.
The festival theme this year is ‘Love’, so having Phil Lee ‘the Mighty King Of Love’ himself as our special guest is particularly apt. We’re tarting the place up like an Elvis Vegas Wedding Chapel especially.
