Caffeine Nights Publishing

Caffeine Nights Publishing Crime and horror fiction from the UK's leading crime, steampunk and horror fiction publisher Based in Kent, England. Reading should be a pleasurable experience.

Caffeine Nights Publishing was formed in April 2007. We produce crime and horror fiction in paperback, eBook and apps for all digital platforms. Our goal is to provide a new business model for publishing and for authors that is greener, more sustainable and profitable for authors. We cannot and do not try to compete with large publishing houses, but we want to provide a service which differs from

many independent publishers. We have high standards and our acceptance rate is low. We do not apologise for this as we have a brand to care about as well as the authors who we sign. We want to change the industry's perception of independent publishers and we can only do this by publishing high quality, exciting and engaging titles. Our output may be small but our ambition is not. Caffeine Nights Publishing has one goal and that is to produce fiction to keep the reader entertained. We want to make you laugh, cry, keep you on the edge of your seat, we want to frighten you and sometimes make you look into the darkest corner of your heart, but most of all we want to challenge your emotions and make you turn the page.

If this does nothing else but show the Government how disgusted we are it's worth it.

I would like there to be another General Election. I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.

It is with the greatest sadness that I have learned of the death of Harry Dunn. While I do post on social media I rarely view other pages or profiles. Harry died on May 25th after a long battle with cancer. He was a kind man and always so enthused with his books and writing and he was an excellent author. I am proud to have published Harry's books and will ensure they remain on sales for as long as Caffeine Nights operates. Harry and I discussed this and he was keen to keep his legacy and voice alive. The world is a poorer place without you, Harry. Jack Barclay lives on.

How would you define people who want to ban books or who ban books and stop readers learning about books. In the 1930s under Adolf Hitler's fascist Germany, the fascists organised book-burning parties. Various countries around the world, through mad religious reasons or so-called 'moralistic' reasons, ban books. But now there is a new fascist on the block. The type of person who bans books before even reading or seeing them. They ban them because it is simply against their morals. They stop you from reading a book or learning about it because it does not align with their 'morals'. I am happy to name and shame the Steampunk Community Bookshop (sic). 'Community' my backside, they have not only banned the book below, but they have banned me without discussion for simply posting about this wonderful graphic novel adaptation below...and the crime? Part of it was made using Midjourney AI even though hours and hours of work was detailed by graphic designers and the author Colin Edmonds himself, author of Steam, Smoke & Mirrors. Social media it seems brings out the worst in people, those whose morals are aligned with some of the worst tyrants in history. For those of you not offended by new technology, learn more about Steam, Smoke & Mirrors the graphic novel and how you can get the first issue, look no further than here: https://blukokoro.com/steam-smoke-and-mirrors-michael-magister/

Major book publishers have largely shied away from steampunk in recent years, but small independent presses continue to release steampunk titles, and lots of authors are self-publishing these days. Here’s a look at notable new titles released last year.

In the age of instant gratification and bite-sized entertainment, the art of the horror short story compendium seems to be fading into obscurity. But lurking in the shadows of the literary world is an author who refuses to let this treasured tradition die. Shaun Hutson, the maestro of macabre, has b...
