Consumers are therefore not restricted to single protocol ecosystems but can access different ecosystems and wireless network technologies. 10GbE XMC module features dual 10GBASE-KX4 ports A rear I/O version of Acromag’s 10GbE network interface card (NIC) mezzanine module is now available. The XMC633 module offers KX4 backplane connections to Intel’s XL710 Ethernet controller.
The XMC633 offers two independent 10Gbit Ethernet (GbE) interface ports with 10GBASE-KX4 protocol. The XMC mezzanine card mounts on VME, VPX, PCIe and other embedded computing carrier boards. An Intel XL710 Ethernet controller provides network connectivity with off-load and virtualisation capabilities. The rear I/O model XMC633 routes two KX4 interfaces to the P16 connector and is compatible with conduction-cooling frames.
The XMC633 joins two other models available from Acromag. Gowanda Electronics signs global distribution deal with TTI Following a worldwide distribution deal, TTI will sell Gowanda Electronics and its sister brands’ power and RF components.
The agreement includes TTI’s sales operations in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia and covers products manufactured by Gowanda and several sister brands in the iNRCORE family.
Products included in the agreement include RF, microwave and power components manufactured by Gowanda Electronics, DYCO Electronics (and its HiSonic brand), Bicron Electronics and TTE Filters. Components include inductors, magnetics, transformers and filters. The components are designed for military, aerospace, avionics, communication, medical, transportation and industrial industries.

Toshiba increases density of photorelays For space-constrained applications, Toshiba Electronics Europe offers three 4-Form-A voltage driven photorelays. According to the company, they have one of the smallest mounting areas in the industry.
The TLP3407SRA4, TLP3412SRHA4 and TLP3475SRHA4 photorelays are suitable for a range of applications including measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes and data loggers as well as burn-in equipment. They can also be used in semiconductor test equipment (probe cards and test heads for memories, SoC and large scale integration (LSI) to mount multiple relays on circuit boards while meeting space constraints.

EPC and Renesas demonstrate efficiency of GaN technology A demonstration board which has a two-phase synchronous GaN boost controller from Renesas and eGaN FETs from Efficient Conversion (EPC) is available from EPC. The EPC9166 is a 500W DC/DC demo board that converts a 12V input to 48V output.
The board uses Renesas’ ISL81807 80V two-phase synchronous boost controller with the EPC2218, the latest generation of eGaN FETs from EPC, to achieve greater than 96.5 per cent efficiency in a 12V input to 48V regulated output conversion with 500kHz switching frequency. The output voltage can be configured to 36, 48 and 60V. The board can deliver 480W power without a heatsink.

High resolution radar sensor monitors vehicle’s blind spots Using a Doppler division multiple access (DDMA)-based signal processing method, the AWR2944 radar sensor can help makers implement systems that can detect vehicles further away than is possible today. The 77GHz sensor has been announced by Texas Instruments and is supplied in a small form factor which it claims is approximately 30 per cent smaller compared to radar today.
The AWR2944 sensor integrates a fourth transmitter to provide 33 per cent higher resolution than existing radar sensors, enabling vehicles to detect obstacles more clearly and avoid collisions.
