Once upon a time, there was an ambitious entrepreneur, who wore all the hats it took to make their business a success and live their life the way they want to.
They knew their ideal customer used social media and so they created profiles, shared regular updates on their business, added relevant hashtags, and ensured posts were published at the optimal times.
But, despite what they were doing right, their posts got little engagement. They got ground down by working so hard and seeing little results from all the content they shared.
“Damn those bloody algorithms!” they said.
After months of trying and failing to build and captivate an audience, they shared their frustrations and showed themselves on social media - their hard work, their ambition, their purpose.
And people saw it and they were hooked.
No longer did people scroll past a brand and the same old content, they saw the difference and they came back for more because they felt a connection to the brand that the entrepreneur had worked so hard to build.
The moral of the story?
To capture your audience’s attention on social media, tell the story of your brand.
How can your product or service make a difference, or enhance the quality of someone’s life? What memorable moments are there in the evolution of your brand?
What’s your story?

When you’re low on time (always!) I bet social media is one of the first things to fall off your to-do list. No wonder! Where do you start… Instagram post? A Reel? TikTok video? LinkedIn update? 🤯 But 90% of consumers will purchase from a brand they follow on social media. What you share directly impacts the purchasing decisions of your customers. That’s why having a strategy will help you to get results from social media AND save you time. Sound like more time?! Don’t worry – that’s why I’m here. I love working with clients to create a strategy that is right FOR THEM. We look at all the critical elements - business objectives, audience personas, platform(s)types of content…But I also look at what’s realistic. What is the right social media strategy that will help them reach and engage future customers, make an impact on their business, AND free up their time and headspace? I’d love to help you do just that, so if you need to take off one of the many hats you wear running your business, send me a message on here or pop me an email [email protected] 🦚
A gesture of kindness can seem insignificant to you, but make someone else’s day.
That goes for everyone, but today is Random Acts of Kindness Day and I'd like to draw attention to how even small acts of kindness can impact ‘small’ business owners.
I say ‘small’ because when you run a business, whether it's solely by yourself or you have a team, it takes just as much energy, determination and motivation as being CEO of a global brand. Maybe more so?!
🎩 You wear all the hats - the admin, the accountant, the creative, the marketer...
I'd like to give you a break today from wearing one of those hats 👇

It's not just the football team's competing in the Euros this year. Brands are vying for the attention of footie fans too...
There's already been a few campaigns released and I can't wait to see more but, being a Scot in England, this one from SNICKERS caught my attention #OfficiallyAwkward
Snickers created its own neutral nation, Bothlands, acknowledging the brand’s sponsorship of both England and Scotland.
It's a fun one, in true Snickers style, featuring the rival teams awkwardly lined up in the TV ad and the brand is encouraging engagement with the #OfficiallyAwkward hashtag.
It's bound to get good engagement given it'll be a huge talking point in the tournament! 🏴🏴
What's your favourite #UEFAEuro2020 brand campaign so far?
AR is the future of retail and I'm loving this next move forward from Snapchat.
Throughout the pandemic, social media platforms have introduced new features to make shopping online seamless and interactive for consumers and helped businesses bring products direct to consumers.
Yesterday, Snapchat announced its latest innovations in AR Shopping technology by bringing its virtual try-on technology to life using Voice ML technology.
That means, you can try on the latest outfits and swap items using just your voice 😮
60% of consumers want to use AR to make purchase decisions. But only 1% of retailers are using AR in their customer buying experience. It's time to plan for the future 🛒🛍️
